April 8, 20169 yr Personally, I enjoyed Days and think that could have used a lot of improvements. While I respect this video as it is an opinion, my only problem is the title as I think it's really just click-bait.
April 8, 20169 yr 358/2 days is the worst KH game to me, it's the only one I will never play again. I found the gameplay to be mediocre the story was awful and it introduced the worst character in the series: Xion.
April 14, 20169 yr I usually look at the game more from a story perspective than a gameplay perspective and based on story, I think it was the second worst game (Recoded added virtually nothing to the story). I think it is a good game simply to explore Roxas' character arc and how he came to leave the organization. But I think it was handled poorly. Xion as a character is only a plot device and even then not a good one as Roxas could have easily gone against the organization without her being there at all. I don't really understand why people obsess about her haha. One of the things that really bothered me about the game is that if didn't take the opportunity to really dive into each of the organization members personalities and histories. This was the one game where that could have been explored and it barely did this at all. Ultimately it was an "okay" game. I don't think the game is really worth being to excited about as its story is self contained and none of its story elements effect the other games in the series.
April 29, 20169 yr For me I enjoyed playing Days. But there's one thing I disliked in the movie was those "ice cream" scenes. Its kinda boring to me.
May 3, 20169 yr When I originally played Days I really liked it. As time went on though I grew to realise that it wasn't all that spectacular. The HD cutscenes in 1.5 showed me how boring the story was (even if I really appreciated the cutscenes existing in that format). Don't get me wrong I like Roxas and the Organisation as a whole, but there was one character that ruined the game for me and that was Xion. Sure her final scene packed an emotional punch when I originally played it, but I'm going to blame that on Yoko Shimomura's ridiculously good music associated with the scene. I just didn't care for her as a character and if/when she returns in Kingdom Hearts III I'll be groaning as to why we should care about "a puppet". The gameplay was choppy. It seemed they tried to cram a KH2 battle system into the DS and the fewer buttons made this a drag. They definitely got it right in Re:coded with the commands that's for sure. Though I liked the Limit attacks in Days when your health got low. I dunno it's definitely one of the weaker handheld games for me and next to Re:coded and KH3D, the only KH game I haven't felt the need to replay. I'm glad I got to at least experience more of Roxas as a character though. Edited May 3, 20169 yr by KHSoraKeyBlade
June 1, 20169 yr I think it was wasted potential. I played it and came out slightly bored but not liking it nor hating it. The missions were way to repetitive but the panel system seemed promising even if limited by it's own mechanic. Storywise I do feel a bit betrayed. I was interested to see a story on Roxas and the Organization before he left, a progression to his desire to understand himself mentioned in KH2, but what I got wasn't that. It was Xion's story told through Roxas' eyes. Roxas himself went from a more serious Sora with a strong desire to be himself to an angsty McCarteney. I was constantly wondering why Axel was hanging out with beings half his age physically and much younger mentally. And I felt Xion was treated way to badly for how poorly the writers handled her. I wouldn't say it was bad or horrible though. It was good distraction for a long car ride and I did like the more unique spin they put on keyblades in design and how they comboed. A game to be played in boredom in spurts for me.
I agree.
I await my imminent death now.
