I think Nintendo putting Linkle in Hyrule warriors was a hint for a female link being in zelda u

Posted

Let's be honest, Nintendo must have been listening to people who want a female link in zelda u so they probably decided to test it out by putting her in Hyrule Warriors and if it was successful, then maybe they decided to let the player change Link's gender in zelda u.

I completely agree, that was my first thought when I saw her in Hyrule Warriors.

Why make a female link when there is already a perfectly viable female protagonist in Zelda? We already know that Zelda is capable of being a badass as both OoT and WW have shown us, so there is no reason why she shouldn't get her own game our even make dual protagonists in link and Zelda. I don't hate the idea of a female link, but i think it ruins the atmosphere/lore aspect of LoZ, it can't be denied that every so often that link and Zelda have a romantic spark here and there and I just can't see Zelda being a lesbian, especially with lore and how these two characters have to procreate( not always with each other) in order to keep the soul of the hero/princess going. if sjw pushed this issue then they should have actually fought for something that would have benefited everyone and make Zelda an actual playable character rather than a female link, would have killed two birds with one stone; they would have gotten a female character in a traditionally male lead game, and they would help to shed Zelda's more often than not damsel in distress persona, but seeing as most SJWs don't even play games they just like dictating how they should be represented i bet the idea never even crossed their mind.

Maybe that was the twist that eiji was referring some time ago

Hyrule warriors seemed to make it pretty clear that she was her own character with her own story, feels like it would be a waste of her character if they just used her model to replace Link in a game

I'm not saying that she, herself is going to be in the game. I'm saying that a character similar to her that is pretty much going to be the female version of link, might be in zelda u.

I seriously hope not.  I mean, it's fine if female protagonists are promoted throughout the game, but essentially that is already the case with the farm girl/woodland girl (Malon, Ilia, et cetera) and of course Zelda herself.  It would be horrible to replace Link, in my opinion, namely because it has always revolved around his incarnate.  'Sides, in creating a female Link I believe it would be putting the guys out, since there aren't as many strong supporting characters who are male in comparison to the females, if you think about it (apart from some of the Kokiri kids, I suppose).
