On a distant planet, there's a race of aliens called Akians. The Akians live just like we do, with advanced societies and technology. They are the same as us biologically as well, physically their race and ours are identical. The only difference is that they are able to command one of four elements, Earth, Wind, Fire, Water. The elements form bands, or collections of akians with the same elements.  The Akians have lived in parallel to the people of earth for as long as the universe has been. This race has been at war with another, the Targans, for around twenty years now. When the invasions began, the Akains sent some of their young to earth to be safe. Those children never new of their heritage, but are now starting to learn of their powers. Their silent guardian, Damian, has kept watch from a distance, watching the kids grow, keeping them out of trouble as best they could, waiting for the time they would be old enough to learn of their kind. That time has come.

Damian - Damain sipped his coffee. He looked down at the paper and saw an article about two pages in titled "Power outage across three city blocks on thursday, police are lost." Hoo boy. He read on. "Last thursday, the police were barraged with phone calls from panicked citizens when all the power went out across three city blocks with no warning. The police investigated, to find a pole supporting a power line bent ninety degrees over a large dumpster, with the lines splitting and launching sparks. No one know how the dumpster got there, but a city engineer tasked with assessing the damage had this to say 'we really dont know what could have happened here. The angle at which the pole is bent suggests the dumpster was thrown by some immense force, but we cant figure out what could have launched it.' The police urge anyone " damian stopped reading. He sighed. He couldnt put it off much longer, these kids were gonna level the city if they didnt learn to control their powers. He made up his mind. Today was the day they would finally know. He stood up and pondered who to talk to first. But he had another thought. He sat back down. They would know after he finished his coffee.

A slight frown furrowed Vera's brow as she glared daggers at Osric.  "Do I look so frail that I'll be blown away by a gust?  I'll be fine, thank you.  I'm much more concerned about staying in here than going out there."  She didn't elaborate on what she meant, but she was referring to Damian.  She was still rather shaken up by his words.  There was no way that she could accept that she was different.  How could she be?  Logically it made no sense.

And that was when she had stepped outside, and she saw the mess that had occurred.

Traffic seemed disrupted by a strong gust of wind from an unknown source, pulled over and honking their horns.  People were screaming and darting around in the streets.  Things were in an uptight panic, which caused fear to seize the girl's throat.  Immediately she knew the source.  She didn't know how he did it, or why, but she knew that Damian had to somehow be responsible.

Shoving an elder gentleman aside and nearly trampling two teenage girls, Vera reentered the cafe and darted right up to Damian's table.  The boy who'd warned her seemed to be affiliated with Damian as well, which caused the girl's nostrils to flare with anger.  She slammed her gift bag and frappe on the table, gripping the edges firms as she fixated a glare at Damian.  "All right.  Tell me what's going on?  Why are you stalking me like this and disrupting the entire town?  What are you?!"

And with that, the table that Vera was gripping briefly rose from the ground, before flinging itself in the direction of Damian and Osric.  Her father's gift for her mother crashed to the floor, her frappe spilling all over it and the floor.  Vera let out a shriek as she backed away, her hand reaching nervously for her throat.  She shook violently from head to toe as she realized it was her.  In her fury she had knocked the table over, which horrified her all the more.  People around, thankfully, hadn't realized that she'd rose the table but, rather, assumed that she'd just flipped it.  It caused several people to fall silent and stare, but at least they weren't thinking she was of the supernatural variety.

- Osric Relic -

Osric was bewildered to see that easily provoked girl come back into the cafe like he asked, but even more so when she came up to their table, slammed down her items in bewilderment, and proceeded to throw the entire table in his direction.  Acting on a cautious impulse, he brought his arms close to his head as the table's face fast approached him.  Luckily for everyone involved, it bounced against his muscular form back towards its original position, earthen magic kicking in to make him resilient.  However, one of the chair's legs beneath him snapped under the weight, and he tumbled to the ground with a splash of nice hot tea on his shirt.  Agitated, burning, and deeply unhappy, he rose with a grumble and left Damian, Ashford, and Vera with some parting words.

"That does it.  The bill's on you.  Leave me alone from now on.  Y'all are too much trouble."

The bell chimed as the door swung open and closed, and Osric headed for home with the sourest of expressions on his face.  If anyone were to say anything to him in the cafe, he would choose to ignore it, and if anyone tried to stop him he would shrug them off.

((Perhaps another time would be best to interact with Osric, but if anyone wants their character to try feel free to go ahead.))

Damian - Jeez. This certainly went to hell in a handbasket. "Jeez, calm down vera. No need to flip the table. Im sorry i broke whatever you had bought, ill replace it." He walked over to the manager and explained what had happened, and that he would pay for any resulting damage. He paid for anyone whos drink spilled and walked out the door. As he opened it, he glanced at vera with a look that said "Come with me." All he could do now is hope she cooled down and followed.

Nick -   Nick worried Kai was gonna shank him or something after the look he gave him, So the question caught him off guard. "Well, not so much anymore, i just needed to get away. I sorta caused a scene over by the cafe."

Kai listened intently, nodding after hearing Nick's answer. He seemed rather lost as what to do next. After hearing such news from Damien, he truly didn't know what to do with himself. Kai was especially reluctant to go to his parents with such news. Unsure of what to say to Nick, Kai stood silent for a moment.

"...That's something." He uttered, clutching tightly to his coat.

The college student sniffed and swallowed hard as Osric left, fear still causing her heart to hammer against her ribcage.  She couldn't believe what she had just done!  Never had her odd . . . abilities been so apparent, namely when losing her temper.  Guilt robbed her of any other thought as she slid into a chair at the table she'd recently flipped, wanting to stammer so many apologies and yet couldn't find the words to.  Eventually Damian had offered to pay her for the damage, and that's when she'd realized what she had actually done.

Her father's gift for her mother lay forgotten on the ground, a few small wrapped items falling out of the gift bag.  Vera swooped out of her seat and lifted the bag, only to hear whatever the gift was to be in far more pieces than it once had been.  A deep groan escaped her.  "You can't purchase it for me," was her response to Damian.  "This was special ordered from a shop downtown.  There is no way we can replace it before my mother's birthday."  She couldn't even think about replacing her frappe right now; that was the least of her worries at present.

When Damian had shot her a look she decided that she would do best to follow the man.  After all, he was the only one who seemed to know of her oddities, and thus was probably the only one that could help her.  "So," she finally murmured when they were outside, her bag of broken objects clenched tightly in her hand.  "What is wrong with me?  And how can I get rid of it?  I don't want to be different.  I am human, and I have a family."

Damian - Damian sighed. He knew it wasnt going to go smoothly, but he didnt expect it to go this poorly. "Vera, i know this is hard, but theres nothing wrong with you, and you cant get rid of it. you arent human. There's nothing more i can say to convince you." He held out another slip of paper with his phone number on it. "This is my number. Call me once you've come to terms with all this. Of course, you could just toss it and never hear from me again. But vera, you know what im saying is true." He turned to leave and give her her space. As he walked, he said over his shoulder "Im sorry your moms gift was damaged in all the chaos. Call me if there is anything i can do to help fix it. Remember, we do have capabilities beyond that of the normal human. there might be something that can be done." and with that he walked off to try to figure out if he actually made any progress.
