Spoilers for Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, re:coded (if you have not watched the new cutscenes in Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX), and Unchained X:

 

 

In one of the new cutscenes that were added to re:coded in Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX, Maleficent told Pete that the "date escape" seemed familiar to the Book of Prophecies.  Maleficent then explained to Pete what the Book of Prophecies could do.  Then, Pete said that the Book of Prophecies seemed too good to be true, but Maleficent asked him how it is different than the "date escape" and decides to search for a connection between the two.

 

Now, it's entirely possible that the connection between the two that Maleficent was talking about was the fact that both the Book of Prophecies and the Datascape could both create worlds.  However, I think that Maleficent was talking about a deeper connection than that, because she goes on to say, "Perhaps there's a link of some sort between that so called journal of theirs and the Book of Prophecies."

 

What did Maleficent mean by that?  I think that she meant that Jiminy's Journal might be the Book of Prophecies.  Why would Maleficent have called Jiminy's Journal "that so called journal of theirs" if she thought that it was just a journal?  Maybe Maleficent thinks that Jiminy's Journal is the Book of Prophecies because of the data worlds that were made from its entries in the Datascape, since the Book of Prophecies is able to create worlds from its entries.

 

Now, some of you may be wondering, "How could Jiminy's Journal possibly be the Book of Prophecies?  It doesn't look like the Book of Prophecies, it's not the same size as the Book of Prophecies, and it doesn't contain any of the prophecies that the Book of Prophecies had in it."  Well, I think it's possible that the Book of Prophecies could have been erased, like Jiminy's Journal was by Namine in Chain of Memories.  Also, we have seen that it is possible for something to change in appearance, since Namine caused Kairi's good luck charm to change in appearance in Chain of Memories.  So, maybe someone with powers similar to Namine's powers erased and altered the size and appearance of the Book of Prophecies to keep people from using its powers, or maybe the result of the Keyblade War and the World being rebuilt caused it to happen somehow.

 

So, I do think that Jiminy's Journal is indeed the Book of Prophecies.  I think that what Maleficent said was a hint to us that it is.  But those are just my thoughts.  What do you guys think?

 

I think that was just to link x and KH3. Personally, I think Xehanort and Yen-Sid have copies, but either Yen Sid's says somethign different or he doesn't check it regularly which is how Xehanort's movements excaped him. But there are 5 copies, so it's possibe that the journals are other copies.

Wow, this is actually quite an interesting deduction here!  True, Maleficent did speak of a connection between the Journal and the Book Of Prophecies, so it could be that the two are one and the same!  Or, as Isamu put it, it could be one of the five copies, keeping in mind if said copies weren't destroyed when the Keyblade War destroyed everything!

 

If this proves true, then this is most interesting!  But then, if Jiminy's Journal is a copy of the Book, then perhaps it's actually hidden, or its power is somehow being transferred from the book itself, since the only things written in the journal are retellings of the events that went down in the first two KH games, ya know? So maybe it's that!  Or maybe it could also be like this real life trick of hiding writing with invisible ink or something like that!  Like, maybe the Book is Jiminy's Journal, and the real text is hidden on the very pages of the journal, under everyone's noses!  It would be interesting to see what would happen if this were the case!  Jiminy would probably feel overwhelmed that he has such a book in his possession!

Oh duh I'm stupid. It's because she's not sure what she's talking about. She thinks she hears "date escape" so that's what she says. I tend to forget most of this story considering it's about 15 minutes of plot and 2 hrs and 45 minutes of unimportant fluff.
