So When Do You Think Nintendo Will Show Us The NX?

Posted

You know, I think that it's been far too long for Nintendo to keep the NX a secret. ANd I say that because I honestly think that they should have showed it off at this years E3 event like they said they would. But nope, they decided that instead of taking advantage of the audience attending and watching E3 online they thought it would be good to show it off on their own event. Now I am aware that E3 is somewhat slowly dying as the years go by since game companies are now starting to unveil their new consoles in their own events.. But I honestly think Nintendo should have just used E3to at least show us what the console looks like and than have a Nintendo Direct that focuses solely on what the NX is, what new features it has, and what games will be made for it both for launch titles and for its overall library. I love Nintendo but I think this was a missed opportunity to get a good audience that might want to know more about the NX and possibly buy it when it comes out. Look, it's fine to have your own conferences for things like this but the lack of advertising for your consoles is pretty bad. As far as I see it, Nintendo's making the same mistake like they did with the Wii U where they don't explain to their audience well enough about what the system is and why it's something that's worth the upgrade from your previous console that they try to sell to people. With this long wait I hope they do what Square Enix is doing with Final Fantasy XV and give us a ton...and I mean TON of advertisement for the system with how long they are having us wait for any news on their new system. I hope they finally show it to us at least next month or in October.

I thought I heard somewhere that Nintendo planned on revealing the NX sometime in the fall? It's been a while since I heard so I'm probably way off, but the Tokyo Games Show is in Spetember, so maybe then?

I mean, I get why they didn't at E3- that would take attention away from Zelda, which was a huge deal, and given that Nintendo seems to want to build up a large launch library, they might not want to (or be able to) announce new games right away. Still, would have loved some info on the damn thing. At least a finalized name.

I respectfully disagree. Nintendo is a well known company, and whenever they talk about the NX, it will get lots of coverage. I don't think there was anything at E3 that would've topped NX news, but the NX still would've been fighting for headlines, just from all of the news coverage. It is annoying not to have any information, but if they reveal the NX with a strong opening line-up, no will care about the news drought.

I would guess sometime in September, before TGS. I don't see it being at TGS, and it would be weird to talk about it afterwards.

I'm actually thinking that we'll get more info on the NX at the Tokyo Game Show!  At least then, Nintendo will have some advertising and promotion for the system! I'm curious as to what the console is, and I'm considering purchasing it, but I'm going to hold off my money until I know I'll want the system!  I didn't even buy the Wii U, and that was money well saved, since the system apparently didn't perform all that well in the market!  And from what I've read and heard people say, the system didn't really have a good gaming library, of course, with a few notable exceptions, such as Xenoblade Chronicles X, Smash Wii U, and all the Mario and Zelda games that came out for the system!

So yeah, I'm sure Nintendo's gonna want to play their cards right and show more info on the NX before this year it out, since said system is to come out on March of next year, ya know? :)

After Scorpio, PS4 Neo, and possibly even PS5's announcements. I still think Nintendo is paranoid of the other console makers "stealing ideas".

Them revealing the system in the fall seems pretty likely since they have not show it to us yet. I just hope they don't have us wait too long in seeing what the system really looks like and why we should spend money on it.

Well, the thing is, Nintendo has never made an appearence in TGS. So I honestly don't expect them to reveal it there. It's more likely that they will make a Nintendo Direct about it.

Oh, I see!  Well, when you put it that way, then yeah, we'll probably get a Direct sometime before the end of the year, so we can get a clearer picture of what the NX actually is, ya know? :)
