I need everyone's thoughts on something

Posted

Okay so I have an engineering project coming up and my team is struggling to pick an idea.

This Halloween we have a Japanese themed carnival type event and as engineering students our project is to set up a game that will do well in terms of profits.

We have 3 main ideas that we need to vote on in a few hours so here they are:

_________________________________________

1) Obstacle course

We have... Three obstacles One is where we shoot hoop like different levels and difficulties for the hoops.

The harder it is the more points

And then Catapult Velcro balls To a Velcro board( sort of similar to darts but with a catapult)The closer to the center the more points scored.

Then the last one, In goo there are small chips The smaller the chip the higher the points

Whoever gets the highest total score gets to be on the leader board and after a certain amount of points they get a prize.

2)mini basketball

The basic idea of this is basketball. Now there are three improvements that can be made to add variety and challenge to it

1) timer: put as many balls as you can through the hoop in a given time

2) Different heights: setting the hoops at different heights will make it slightly harder. Basketball shots are hard enough as it is to land with accuracy but when the hoop is at a different height as to what you're used to then it gets a bit harder but not impossible

3)Lastly the rebound idea. Instead of shooting the ball directly into the hoop you're required to aim it at a wall so it bounces off before going to the hoop

3) Mystery box :

There are 8 boxes and each box is filled with an unknown item ( squid, sushi etc) and they have to guess whats in the box by putting their hand inside.. The person who has the most number of right guesses wins

One side of box is transparent so that people who are waiting can see. The items in the box will be changed regularly.

Okay so these are the initial drafts we've come up with for each idea.

Since plans do change after time please keep in mind that at least 1 or 2 of the flaws in each idea are bound to be fixed when the project is finalised.

Now on to the main part. I want to ask you guys, if you went to a carnival and saw each of these 3 games, which would you be most likely to try?

Ignoring the costs and practicality of these ideas I want to hear what you guys think from a customer's perspective.

Thank you and any tips will be greatly appreciated ^^

Mini basketball, because ball is life

But yeah I'd choose basketball because it's very straightforward and I enjoy it. The player can choose their difficulty level so someone who plays ball like a pro can challenge themselves! Sounds like the best one to me xD

I really like the obstacle course idea because it's unquie and you don't see that anywhere. But as a coustomer, I'd go with the mini box because that's the one I would most likely win.

I think you should go for either the obstacle course or the mystery box, those 2 seem fun and original.

The mystery box seems to be the most intriguing one out of the three, so in my honest opinion, the mystery box sounds like a great idea!  Go for it! :D
