Comicbook.com interviews John Vignocchi, VP of production for Disney Infinity - "Hopefully this leads to us doing more."

In an interview with Comicbook.com, John Vignocchi, the vice president of production for Disney Infinity, claims that he hopes the recent inclusion of Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity 3.0 "leads to more".

Vignocchi: Hopefully this leads to us doing more. We've had a lot of fun doing it, and I love Kingdom Hearts, so that's the goal.

In the interview, Vignocchi also reveals that the inclusion of Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity has been planned for quite some time:

Vignocchi: Everyone keeps asking me about Kingdom Hearts. I've been alluding to a passion project that I've been working on for some time, and that's what this is. We have had this planned out for about 8 months, with a lot of back and forth with our partners at Square-Enix.

Also, as if that wasn't enough, he made a series of tweets that could further suggest a larger role for Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity.

Take these tweets with a grain of salt, seeing as they neither confirm or deny more Kingdom Hearts in future versions of Disney Infinity, but the winky face and the caps-locked "LOL" imply a sarcastic remark.

Do you think Kingdom Hearts could be the focus of Disney Infinity 4.0? Do you even want more Kingdom Hearts in Disney Infinity? Let us know in the comments!

It helps promote the game seeing as there are people out there who play Disney Infinity but haven't heard of the Kingdom Hearts series. Also mention the fact that the ultimate unlock for Disney Infinity was a lightsaber, and in 3.0 Star Wars becomes the main focus of Disney Infinity. So maybe in 4.0 or (5.0 if possible) Kingdom Hearts becomes the main focus.

I can ashore you that kingdom hearts will not be the main focus in any Disney infinity games seeing it is already a complex series with more advanced or different gameplay etc but next year when kingdom hearts 3 will mostly come out will be the perfect time for Disney infinity to bring out kingdom hearts figures etc to promote the game and get more sales.

That doesn't mean Disney Infinity can't have a theme on Kingdom Hearts at all... Just because the story of Kingdom Hearts is complex already has nothing to do with Disney Infinity. Disney Infinity is a sandbox-type game where people can build and play through stuff, not necessarily something complex like Kingdom Hearts. Just like Star Wars being the main theme of 3.0, Kingdom Hearts can have the exact same thing.

It better be because that is what will make me drop everything and just buy the game. Assuming I actually have money at that point...

It's funny how before I was against the idea but now I'm pretty ok with it. Huh.
