December 18, 2014 maintenance report for Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] now available

Tonight's Kingdom Hearts χ maintenance has just finished bringing new additions to the game. This week's new cards feature characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Nightmare Before Christmas, along with the new Key Scene #9 card featuring Sora. The Christmas festivities continue with a new Christmas box, Christmas-themed Heartless ornaments, and Christmas avatars. More items are lined up in the Shop.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX European launch event recap video released

Square Enix has released a recap video for the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX European launch event which was held in London on December 3rd. In the video recap you hear from Tai Yasue, the co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series and Rie Nishi, the producer of the Kingdom Hearts series along with thoughts from various fans. You can view this below.

KH13 Contest: Share your fan-art & win Kingdom Hearts II Vol.3 manga

Hey everyone! Hope you’re enjoying the lead up to Christmas and playing Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. With the third addition of the (English) Kingdom Hearts II manga series releasing on Tuesday (December 16th, 2014) and Christmas fast approaching, we thought it would be the perfect time to run another competition!
 




 
This will be a fan-art competition with the chance of winning a copy of the (English) Kingdom Hearts II Vol.3 manga. The competition is simple: create a Kingdom Hearts fan-art with the only condition being that it must have a Christmas theme, and created specifically for this competition. You may use any characters (Kingdom Hearts, Disney, Final Fantasy, etc), incorporate unused characters from Disney films/Square Enix games or even create original characters, just as long as it relates to Kingdom Hearts somehow. Read on for more details.
 
How to enter:
Upload your fanart to KH13 (either to the Fan-made Images gallery, or by making a new topic somewhere), and then put a link to your fan-art in the comments below so that we can find it easily.
Fan-art must be related to Kingdom Hearts, have a Christmas theme and must be created specifically for the competition. You can enter multiple times.
At midnight EST on December 22nd, 2014, our team will deliberate and decide on our favourite fan-art submitted, contact the winner of the contest, and send them their copy! The contest is open to everyone as long as the manga can be shipped to their location via Amazon, etc.

Good luck to everyone! Even if you don't win, there is still a chance we will feature your fan-art on the KH13 Community Twitter and the KH13 Tumblr. Above all, have fun!

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 & 2.5 ReMIX Original Soundtrack unboxing & Shimomura's message translated

The Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 & 2.5 ReMIX Original Soundtrack Box was released on November 26. Containing seven discs of Kingdom Hearts music it's definitely a must have product for Kingdom Hearts music fans. KH13 member tothecikpah has kindly uploaded a bunch of unboxing photos which you can view below. KH13 translator SkyKeybladeHero has also kindly translated all of Yoko Shimomura, the composer of the Kingdom Hearts series' messages, you can read them below.

Yasue talks KH3 world selection, wanting to be involved with future titles/saga, & dealing with the complex story

Following the interview reveal last week that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX could be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, IGN has posted the second half of their interview with Tai Yasue, the co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series.
 
This full interview covers when we might see Kingdom Hearts III, the world selection process for Kingdom Hearts III and future entries, both fans and development staff alike dealing with the series' complex story, Yasue's personal wish to be involved with future Kingdom Hearts titles ("especially if it's a new saga"), and the team's goal to have Kingdom Hearts III help with expanding and revitalizing the Japanese video game market.

December 11, 2014 maintenance report for Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] now available

Today's maintenance for Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] has finished bringing new additions to the game. This week's new cards feature Sora & Jack based on their Halloween Town appearances, along with Sora in Wisdom Form. The Christmas event is still going with more rewards and Heartless added, as we​ll a commemoration event for the start of Kingdom Hearts χ[chi]'s usage of Hangame Services. New additions have also been made to the Mog Trade and the Shop.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is the 3rd top-selling PS3 title in the UK this week

GFK Chart-Track has released their sales info for the week ending on December 6, 2014 in the United Kingdom, and with this we now have our first indication of how the English release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is selling. HD 2.5 ReMIX came in at 3rd place on the list of the top selling full-price PlayStation 3 titles for the week, and 28th or 31st for all platforms overall, depending on whether you look at the full-price or all-inclusive charts.
 
It is worth noting that these charts typically don't track sales directly from the publisher, so all sales of the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Collector's Edition would not have been taken into account.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is now released everywhere + KH2.5 / KH3 news roundup

It is now December 5 in the United Kingdom, which means that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is finally available across Japan, North America, Australia/New Zealand and Europe! KH13 impressions of the new Kingdom Hearts III footage

At both the North American and European launch events for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, new Kingdom Hearts III footage was shown off, with more information promised to be revealed in 2015. This footage was only intended for those who attended the event, and as a result was not released online.

Yasue discusses Kingdom Hearts III's switch from Luminous to Unreal Engine 4, Nomura's involvement, & Disney properties being considered

In an interview with Eurogamer, Tai Yasue, the co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series, has discussed Kingdom Hearts III in the lead up to Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX's release in Europe. Here, Yasue explained the switch from Luminous Engine to Unreal Engine 4 and its effects on Kingdom Hearts III's development, Tetsuya Nomura's involvement in the development so far, and the prospect of various Disney properties being used in the game. December 4, 2014 maintenance report for Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] now available

Tonight's maintenance for Kingdom Hearts χ brings plenty of new additions and Christmas festivities to the game. This week's new cards feature Key Art #23 with Kingdom Hearts Re:coded artwork, as well as other cards featuring characters based on The Nightmare Before Christmas film. Many Christmas events are in place with different prizes to be gained. New outfits called "Christmas bear outfits" were added for the holiday season. During this event, the rare skills [second Chance II] and [Cure] will be available as mission and trial rewards!
