I thought I was staring at the computer for too long!

Remus grimaced. He had only 1/2 his points left. The other Pokemon were too powerful, but if he could get around that… and with 1 minute 30 seconds remaining. “That’s it! Beautifly, String Shot!” Beautifly wrapped Milotic up in string. “Staraptor, make her dance!” Staraptor began using Whirlwind. Trapped in Beautifly’s strings, Milotic began flailing about in the winds. The Pokemon had no control at all; it was Staraptor’s puppet. Sarah’s points began decreasing slowly, about to half. Beautifly and Staraptor worked perfectly in synch to reposition Milotic between them and Gyrados; a Pokemon sheild. 50 seconds remaining.

True. They’d have to do it right. It shouldn’t be Sora centered though; then people would need it as a game. What would really be cool would be a Keyblade War movie…

Drex closed his eyes and thought. “No, that wouldn’t work,” he said. ”Johnny is powerful, probably the most powerful warrior of Cosmos at this point. To overpower him would be to use a full out assault. I’m not saying we’re weaker, but wouldn’t it be safer to break him first?” Drex announced. “Without feelings, I know nothing of pride or honor. But I know reason. If we could break his spirit by taking out his comrades. We steal their Ultimas and scar their hearts. The ‘good guys’ will feel responsible for their broken hearted friends, and held back by carrying their dead weight, they will fall easily.”

Staraptor covered for Beautifly and took the bulk of the Payback. “It’s okay guys, change gears!” Remus shouted. ”Staraptor, Sand Attack and Beutifly, use Silver Wind!” Sand blew up from the ground, and mixed with the dust from Silver Wind, hitting Sarah’s Pokemon in the eyes. The mixture disoriented them. “Good job guys!” Remus shouted. ”Sarah, in a contest battle, the goal is to show off your Pokemon and embarrass the opponents’ as much as possible for five minutes. Every time someone’s Pokemon is hit too hard or rendered useless, they lose points. At the end of the time limit, the team with the most points wins.” Remus looked down at a Pokegear contest app he had installed. “I lost about 1/4 of my points when both Energy Ball was blocked and Payback hit. However, my Featherdance combo highlighted my Pokemon’s strength and my Sand Attack combo’s gonna cause your Pokemon’s accuracy some problems. You’ve got about 5/8 of your points left.”

It was so sad seeing cute little Leon (Cyndaquil) crying on the beach!

“Quick, Staraptor and Beautifly, maneuver behind Gyrados!” The winged Pokemon made it impossible for Gyrados to properly aim for them. “Staraptor, Air Slash, and Beautifly, Energy Ball!” The attacks slammed into Gyrados’ back.

Vanille closed her eyes. She continued whispering. “Ultima. Ultima.” --------------------------------------------- Drex smiled at Genesis. “Don’t get your coat in a knot. There’s no chance that I’ll be like your friend. I know what I am, and I embrace it,” he bragged. ‘Nobodies, the superior beings,’ he thought. ’The only race that can obtain true power.’

Darkness. Sorrow. Vanille snapped awake screaming. Johnny dropped her and she thrashed on the ground. Serah ran over to Vanille. “Come on, calm down, we’re here! You’re okay!” Vanille stared blankly past Serah and whispered. “I feel weak. Lighter. Something’s missing.”

“Yeah, but Featherdance is more powerful than Intimidate,” Remus said. ”Beautifly, use Energy Ball on Milotic, and Staraptor, fly over Beautifly!” Staraptor did as asked, and Beautifly launched an Energy Ball at Milotic.

“I’ll make the first move, Feather Dance and Whirlwind!” Staraptor released several feathers into the air, and Beautifly blew them all into a mini twister. The twister blew right into Gyrados. “That should muffle you attack stat a bit,” Remus said.

“Sounds good.” Remus looked into his Pokeballs. “Come on guys, I know you can do it.” ”STARAPTOR, BEAUTIFLY, time to shine!” Various colors of crosses flew out of the Pokeballs and combined in the air to release Staraptor and Beautifly.

“Alright,” Remus said, and made a quick substitution. They met at the indoor battlefield. “Double battle or single?”

“Now, well, sure,” Remus replied. ”Using new Pokemon or old ones?”

“I’m a cold blooded killer,” Drex said. ”I’m a Nobody. I have no emotions. I struck down my Somebody. I have all of his memories, which I base my attitude on. He was a courageous hero who saved worlds. I’m the opposite. What’s better than a remorseless assassin with the power over hearts, but no heart to be weakened by. A perfect warrior for Chaos.”

^Well, that's life. Quilava blasted down the wall and made a dash through the snow. Remus and Sarah were hot on his trail when they realized that… It was beautiful outside. “What?” Remus wondered. ”Chris said the Weather Institute was having problems. My dorm’s right there.” The main hall of the Articuno dorm was huge. It looked like something out of a resort. There was a sign for a pool to the right, and a buffet to the left. Remus blushed a little. “My entry into six Grand Festivals qualified me for this. In reality, I haven’t had a good battle in ages. I’ve been trying to raise some new teamates, but seeing everyone else’s heated battles, I wonder if I really belong here. Look the computers are over there…”

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, before the credits. The only game I've ever cried for.

Drex could read Dr. Cid like a book. A scientist, but a schemer. Suspicious of Drex, but reliant on him. Drex would have to be sure not to double cross him. “No need to worry,” Drex said. ”Once the warriors of Cosmos grasp the gravity of this situation, they’ll lose hope. Should that fool Johnny save Vanille’s heart, she’ll fall with time. I tampered with it a little. She will be crushed from the inside out; her friends with her.”
