Anyone else hoping for a playable destiny islands and/or expanded Twilight Town in the RE:mind DLC?
I mean, it really sucks that nearly the entirety of destiny islands was modeled, likely with working collision to assist in cutscenes, and we don't actually get to set foot on it. And with Twilight Town, much of the other areas were modeled as well, and just not included. It seems like it would be an easy expansion to add. Could even tack on the mysterious tower accessed by the train station. And simply have you pilot to destiny islands before saving Aqua. Maybe include a night of fate battle portal to give the player something else to do, but even just enjoying the digital scenery would be a welcome addition.

Riku's loaded?
Sora's dinner his mom made him was a Hot Pocket and some Strawberry Nesquik. Kairi and Riku had 3 course meals catered to them.
-
Riku's loaded?
Especially after Sora earns all that Munny. Who's rich now?
-
Riku's loaded?
I was just reading through the manga when this image showed up. The guy's house has a balcony, and column supports. The architecture we see of the town in Destiny Islands is not that impressive, which means that Riku's family is likely the richest in the town. Kind of reinforces his KH1 "better than you" attitude.

Kairi knows what happened to Sora in Castle Oblivion!
Well, Kairi being adamant about taking back Namine's feelings and experiences, she specifically said feelings and experiences, being wrong, would suggest that she's felt Namine's feelings, and experiences her memories. Could be due to her princess of heart status that she was able to. Telling Namine he didn't blame her would probably just be a simple conversation. I mean, Riku held on to a lot of guilt about his actions in KH1 and giving into the darkness, and as soon as Sora found him, he started crying about how hard he'd been looking for him. There wasn't a single awkward moment about Riku's past between them since, an apology wasn't necessary, and Sora didn't even have to say he didn't hold any of it against him, it was evident without it. It would probably be as quickly resolved with Namine.

Kairi knows what happened to Sora in Castle Oblivion!
That's a good point, but Sora's also the kind of person who cares about others, even his enemies. He'd definitely prefer to know about his experiences with them, especially the time he spent with Namine. Like he said in COM, even if his promise wasn't real, it was real to him, and he wanted to keep it even if it lead to his heart being destroyed. It might be the case though, that Namine felt guilty, and didn't want Sora to know what she'd done, that she was the one who twisted his memories, replaced Kairi in his heart, and nearly made him a tool of the organization. Sora knows that she's the one who fixed his memories, but not the extent of how she was to blame for it. So maybe Kairi kept the secret for Namine's sake.

Kairi knows what happened to Sora in Castle Oblivion!
Don't know why I didn't pick it up until this playthrough, but as Kairi was explaining that Namine's life was hers and she had no right to take those feelings and experiences back, it clicked. Just like how Sora has all of Roxas's memories, Kairi has Namine's. So, even though Sora still doesn't remember anything, Kairi remembers it all. For some reason she decided not to tell him. Maybe she didn't have time between KH2 and DDD. Maybe it was just like a week or two to relax, and then right back at it.

I'm stuck?
Yeah, it's just the generic "You're done with this world but you might have missed a treasure chest or two. Smell the roses while you're at it." quest. If you finished it after Big Hero 6, than that means a special event will occur after you leave the world if it hasn't already. Confused me my first playthrough.

Non numbered titles being called "spin-offs"
Well, let's use your definition then. BBS. Focuses on the wayfinder trio, and Master Xehanort, the big bad of the series. It shows how Terra, Aqua, and Ventus each influenced Sora, Riku, and Kairi directly in their Childhood. Ventus Merged with Sora's Heart, Terra gave Riku a Keyblade, and Aqua gave Kairi the protection charm that led her to Sora and Riku when her world was destroyed. It also shows Xehanorts ambitions, character, and history. This would be considered a prequel. Prequels are almost never considered spin-offs. If that were the case, episodes 1, 2, and 3 of Star Wars would be considered spin-offs. BBS A Fragmentary Passage. Focuses on Aqua's wandering of the realm of darkness, shows her meeting Mickey again and helping him get the keyblade he needed to seal the door to darkness. She ends up saving Riku's life and allowing him and Mickey to reach Sora. This doesn't tie in as well as BBS, but it should still be considered a prequel. COM Picks up directly after KH1, and introduces Organization 13. It also shows how Riku and Mickey escaped the realm of darkness, and explains why Sora was asleep for the course of a year at the start of KH2. Keep in mind as well, that COM, not RE:COM, came out before KH2. It wasn't a bridge, it was a direct sequel to KH1. Days literally covers every day between COM and KH2, explaining more about the organization and the replica program, and showing how nobodies can grow hearts. It has a large focus on how Sora's memories torment and confuse Roxas and Xion, to the point where they nearly lose their sense of identity. Coded's main plot involves testing Data-Sora to see if the real Sora can handle the hurt of the hearts he's connected to. He's proven to be capable, and Mickey is reminded of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, which leads to the search for them in KH3. DDD shows Riku and Sora's MoM exam. Sora is dragged down into darkness, nearly becoming a seeker of darkness. This shows off more of Master Xehanort's plan, as well as showing his organization's power, how near he was to completing it. This adds a sense of urgency to KH3 that wouldn't otherwise exist. Now, if you've followed along, there's a couple common themes here. In each one of them, even the ones where Sora isn't the main protagonist, the plot of the game still centers on Sora. In addition, each one also focuses on Master Xehanort, or the after-effect of his actions. BBS is Xehanort's origin, BBS AFP is the fate of Aqua because of his actions, COM centers on the betrayal of some members of his Organization, Days explores that organization further, Coded is exposing the fates of Aqua, Terra, and Ventus to the protagonists, and moving them to act, and DDD is when almost all of his plan was revealed. So, all of them are core entries to the series, focusing on Sora and Xehanort in the Dark Seeker Saga, and shouldn't be considered spin-offs. Now, whatever comes next, whatever characters they focus on, it'll be a new saga, and every further entry will be considered a spin-off. Spin-offs have nothing to do with length or depth of story, just the content, focus, protagonists and antagonists. The main protagonist and antagonist of the series are focused on in each entry. So, none of them are spin-offs.

Moogle Origins.
I was just reading about the Mughal or Mogal empire. Having heard the name, pronounced exactly like Moogle, I wondered if that's where the idea for moogles came from. Looking into it, the Mughal empire was responsible for about 22% of the world economy, with the only country ahead of it being China. So i think it's pretty clear that the moogles were based on this ancient economic superpower. Anyways, thought that was pretty cool and decided to share it with you.

KH-III Re:MIND - Extended/changed scenes?
Well, Nomura said that the dive to the heart in KH3 actually takes place at the end of KH3, right after Sora disappears. I assume that that's where he went to to save Kairi, and that the Verum Rex world is in an alternate worldline. They mentioned them so much in the reports that I assume it has to be what the next game's about. It sounds like it's a slightly more magical word for alternate timeline, and this would explain why the shibuya he's in isn't Neku's shibuya. I think they'd also have opportunities to add in some boss battles, like in pirates when you board Luxord's ship and he vanishes leaving you to fight heartless and nobodies.

KH - Re Remakes?
The biggest hurdle is Deep Jungle. I think the main reason they didn't get a full remake is because they couldn't get the rights to Remake deep Jungle, but they were able to remaster it through a loophole. To remake it up to KH3's quality, they'd need to acquire the rights again, which aren't being given out. They'd have to drop Deep Jungle and find a replacement world to remake it, and that would change the story and upset fans. If the owners of Tarzan are willing to play ball one day, they might consider remaking the games. They can't just leave KH1 and remake everything else, so their hands are tied on the matter.

Sora doesn't have his own Keyblade?
I wasn't aware of the Keys of Heaven reference, but that makes it all the more evident that they're special keyblades, as well as Eraqus's, as its teeth are a simplified version of the teeth of the Keys of Heaven. Xion's keyblade was called a fake by Riku because it was weaker than Sora's. As mentioned previously in this thread, they were wielding Sora's keyblade. Data-Sora's Keyblade was initially a fake, and was easily destroyed by Maleficent with a flick of the wrist. He was then able to grow a heart of his own and wield an actual keyblade. I'd assume that like with Roxas and Xion, this is Sora's keyblade again in another place. Axel did have his keyblade broken, and had managed to repair it, not create a new one altogether that happened to look the same. Riku's was really broken and he had to get another one, Mickey's was never broken, it was only damaged. The main evidences why they're special are due to the facts that Mickey had to search for a special keyblade in the realm of darkness that just so happened to be a pallate-swapped Kingdom Key, and that the X-Blade contains 2 Kingdom Keys in its design. Due to this design, it's reasonable to assume that these are the Keyblades that are closest to the power of the X-blade, made in the most accurate image of it. This leads to the assumption that they were some of the first to be created in the image of the X-blade.
-
Sora doesn't have his own Keyblade?
Exactly, Nomura Designed the X-Blade to have two Kingdom Keys in it. While normal keyblades are representative of their wielders, it's an impossible coincidence that the one Sora and Riku fought over looked exactly like it. Also, if they weren't special, mickey wouldn't have had to search so long to find literally any keyblade from the realm of darkness. He had to find that specific one, and had to have Donald and Goofy find its counterpart in the Realm of Light.
-
Sora doesn't have his own Keyblade?
Eraqus's keyblade seems to be special as well, tied to the Realm In-between. Especially seeing how Sora had to use it rather than his own to get to the Realm of Darkness. Everyone else's keyblades seem to die with them as seen in the keyblade graveyard. I mostly mentioned multiple people wielding it at the same time because we see that Riku's other selves. (Both replikus, and data Riku) haven't been shown to weild his keyblade at the same time. One of the biggest evidences of it for me is that Kingdom Key just so happens to look exactly like the twin keys in the X-Blade. That can't be a coincidence, especially since everyone else's keyblades are incredibly unique. This means it was one of the first keyblades created in the image of the X-Blade.
-
Sora doesn't have his own Keyblade?
So, I was thinking about this today. The Kingdom Key is a special Keyblade, right? The Keyblade of the Realm of Light, Just like how Mickey's Kingdom Key D is the Keyblade of the Realm of Darkness. I was also thinking about how the Keyblades were forged in the image of the X-Blade which, along with its special nature, means that someone forged the Kingdom Key centuries before Sora was born. This suggests that it's had multiple wielders throughout the years, and doesn't die with its wielder like all the Keyblades of the warriors in UX. Another special power it seems to have is existing in multiple places at the same time, as we see Roxas and Xion both using it, although its power is split between them. It also can choose its wielder, as it hopped back and forth between Sora and Riku in KH1. Every other Keyblade wielder we've seen in the series has had their own individual Keyblade that could only be used by them, and would die shortly after they did. Mickey's Kingdom Key D is similar, and was able to be used by Aqua. So, in a way, it's like Sora is being wielded by the Keyblade, and not the other way around. It could just choose to drop him and move on to someone else. The X-Blade could probably also do that, and I assume Aqua's got Master Eraqus's back. I wonder if the Keyblade will ever leave Sora, and if he'll have to forge a new one to use. Maybe that'll be his next Mark of Mastery Exam. Can you master using a Keyblade that isn't sentient and among the 3 most powerful weapons in the known universe? I mean, it practically does his job for him.

Questions about The Final World vs. Kingdom Hearts Itself (Story Spoilers)
Well, You're making the assumption that because Kingdom Hearts happened to be above them that that's where they went. The Repliku twins (Super weird and unexplained story there I guess.) faded in a similar manner, glowing in golden light and rising up. They could have gone to the final world. The series has had lots of talk about other realms. The Realm of Darkness, the Realm Inbetween, the Realm of Light, the Realm of Dreams, and now the Realm of Death. I think of this as 5 sequential planes similar to dimensional theory, we can see the laws of nature/magic shift in each of these realms, becoming more complex as they go on. A brief overview of what I'm talking about, the 1st dimension is length, a line. The 2nd is width, think a square or a circle. The 3rd is depth, or space. The 4th dimension, the highest one we can perceive, is Time. You can understand and experience the effect of the dimension you perceive, and the ones below it, but not the ones above it. You can also manipulate the laws of lower dimensional planes. think of folding a paper into an origami crane. If there was a truly 2 dimensional object in existence, you could do the same thing, manipulating it into a 3 dimensional one. we can also move objects in space, because we perceive the higher dimension of time. Theoretically, if we understood what dimension came after time, we could manipulate time in the same way as folding a piece of paper. We don't know what comes after time, but string theorists suggest there could be as many as 26 dimensions. This theory is what gives characters like Mxyzptlk in the DC universe their powers. They come from a higher dimensional plane and can manipulate our laws, and laws we aren't even aware of, as simply as folding a piece of paper, seeming to be magic from our perspective. It's also an argument some people use to try to prove the possibility of a God through modern scientific theory. In the Realm of Darkness as we see in a Fragmentary passage, there is no concept of time. This leads to the conclusion that it's a lower dimensional plane, and thus, time has no effect on those residing in it. People lost to the Darkness don't die, they just float endlessly in a dark abyss. Denizens of the realm of light are aware of the existence of Time, and so, like Aqua, they notice its absence. The longest period of time we see spent in the Realm Inbetween is in Chain of Memories in Castle Oblivion, The World That Never Was and Twilight and Traverse Town. Castle Oblivion is unique due to its constantly changing rooms, The world That Never Was for, not much admittedly, but to be fair it was an artificially created world, but Twilight Town is known for both its always being twilight, and Nobodies coming into being there. Note that while Twilight Town is always Twilight, they have a clock tower. Unlike the one Aqua sees in the realm of darkness, this one was actually built here, which means it functions even though it seems to always be the same time of day. Traverse Town also has a few clocks, namely in the Gismo Shop and the Hotel, while still being eternally night. This would mean that Time begins to function in the Realm Inbetween. The Realm of Light is the Realm of Light. Besides the existence of Magic, which exists throughout all the realms in the series, there's nothing really different from our realm, besides hearts. Even Pureblood Heartless don't really come from the Realm of Darkness. They come into being in the realm of darkness when someone falls to it, and their heart becomes a heartless. Take into account that Nobodies are born in the Realm Inbetween without hearts, I think it's safe to say that hearts are native to the Realm of Light. Nobodies can't be born in the Realm of Light as they don't have hearts, and Heartless change the heart into pure darkness. This would also mean that Kingdom Hearts resides directly in the Realm of Light, and is itself a natural law in that realm. Traverse Town has its residents with hearts largely because of moving around wherever it's needed, and Twilight Town likely became populated in a similar manner, especially seeing how Uncle Scrooge seems to openly talk about how he came from another world just outside of his crowded Bistro, and Huey Dewey and Louie have a Gummi Shop. If Sora's their only customer, there's no reason to have a physical shop, just sell it through Chip and Dale. They aren't too concerned with keeping the World Order there. The Realm of Dreams has a pretty obvious special rule. Dreams take physical form there. This suggests that in this realm, Dreams are their own sort of law. They don't come into being anywhere else, and dreams certainly aren't considered real in the realm of light. With, of course the 'exception' of the Station of Awakening. Which isn't really an exception because it's actually in the Realm of Dreams near the Realm of Death, hence Chirithy's comment that Sora's accidentally crossed over to the Realm of Death a few times. You can also see lower laws like time being manipulated easily there, seeing how varied time is between Sora and Riku's worlds. The further the plane, the easier laws are to manipulate. The Realm of Death is, as Chirithy put it, the Final world, there's nothing beyond it, for them at least. This is where the soul goes to expire. The most interesting part of this though, is the Lich. As Xehanort told Sora, it's not like other heartless, it ushers hearts to the depths of darkness. I would assume that this is another way of creating Pureblood Heartless. The few hearts that make it there would eventually perish on their own, and without a body they've got no way to return to life, but hey, they get to live as a heartless, better than nothing. It's probably how heartless initially came into being, and I'd suggest that this specific heartless is actually an original Denizen of the Realm of Death. This would probably make the Realm of Death the Dimension of Soul. Hearts aren't supposed to end up there, but sometimes strong ones do. You can also see further manipulation of time and space with Sora's body fragments being stuck in loops from his past and gravity shifting all over the place like it's irrelevant. You also see Namine being able to bend the normal rules of time travel. While you normally can't change the past (Which is why Sora and company had to say and do the same things after resurrection) from the Realm of Death, she was able to influence Terra and change history. I hadn't actually thought about that as an explanation until writing this down, but it makes perfect sense. So, to sum up, The Realm of Darkness is the Dimension of Space, The Realm Inbetween the Dimension of Time, The Realm of Light the Dimension of Heart, The Realm of Dreams the Dimension of Dreams, and the Realm of Death the Dimension of Soul. While Chirithy said that there was nothing beyond it, its similar to how we can't conceive of what the next dimensional plane for us would actually be. Since the being from the highest realm we've seen is the Lich (Chirithy is actually from the Realm of Dreams) and he's not exactly the talkative type, there's no one in the universe to tell us if there really is one. Hearts aren't supposed to be in the Realm of Death, but strong ones latch on to their soul and end up there. Hearts would normally end up in Kingdom Hearts, staying in the Realm of Light. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty satisfied with this explanation.

A Few Things I Like to Say About the ReMind Trailer (possible spoilers)
1 I assume this is taking place just before Sora rushes in to help. 2 Same as 1. 3 I think it's just an additional fight against Siax, like with 1 and 2. Roxas has a similar fighting style to Sora, but more aggressive and quick. 4 That's interesting, hadn't thought about it being placed in as an extension. 5 The fact that he doesn't recognize him is the entire reason for the intrigue. This man from ancient times, who's possessed body after body over centuries, realizes that Luxord is more than who he seems and has no idea who he could be.

KH3 Re:Mind Story Content
I know right? I had assumed that the evil Repliku was lying about being Riku from the past, which was true, but I thought that he was actually Data-Riku, which seemed a clear cut connection to the Darkubes/Bug Blox. Otherwise it makes no sense for Riku to be the one to be in that world. Certainly makes more sense than the whole Repliku's soul split in half thing that was left unexplained. Maybe they'll retcon it and say that it was a Norted Data-Riku who possessed Repliku's body or something.

KH3 Re:Mind Story Content
What stories do you want to see expanded on when the DLC releases?

Kingdom Hearts Coded Remake
Well, the avatar system in KHUX is already visually similar, and I assume square would have the capacity to link it to their own server. Instead of having its own avatar system with their own parts, if they linked it together you could use the same avatar, and likely even unlock/trade avatar parts like you could in Re:Coded by attaching them to your level in tag mode. Could maybe even give bonuses to Data Sora as you're playing through the sector, similarly to the bonuses you get in KHUX for avatar parts.
-
Kingdom Hearts Coded Remake
While it seems a lot of fans didn't enjoy Coded or Days as much as the other games in the series, Re:Coded is personally my favorite. The level of customization with the stat matrix was particularly nice. It gave much more control to you over how powerful Data-Sora was, along with his enemies, and the Avatar sector made great use of the DS's multiplayer system at the time. While it didn't allow you to actually play together, it made for a good high difficulty challenge. I felt it at least deserved a remake rather than an HD Movie, which was mostly text anyways. I think a remake could really be successful though, although I wouldn't want it to take much development time away from the next new title. Bringing it onto a modern console (Preferably Playstation and X-box although more realistically the switch) would allow for greater accessibility and more multiplayer content. The avatar sector could be expanded to be a more social online environment, think something similar to Super Mario Maker, where you can download people's floors and add them to your collection. You might even be able to connect it to your khux avatar. It could also be a good opportunity for square to follow up on Maleficent's threat of controlling the datascape, including a playable epilogue of Data Sora and Riku fending off Maleficent when she finally gets her hands on it. Come to think of it, one of the Remind episodes in the KH3 DLC might be about Coded, maybe explaining why the darkubes look like bug blox.

Kingdom Hearts X Light Novel to be released in the west by Yen Press on December 10th, 2019
Well, not catching up on union cross till I've read this now.
