Utada Hikaru's official website has recently announced the tracklist for their upcoming Greatest Hits album, Science Fiction. The album is set to release April 10th, 2024 and will contain a total of 26 songs including newly mixed and re-recorded songs from across the singer's discography. Of the re-recorded tracks it is confirmed that Hikari, a theme featured prominently throughout many of the games in the Kingdom Hearts series will be receiving a re-recorded version featured on the album as well. That's pretty rad! Sounds like it was a lot of work, but I'm glad your users enjoyed it! How did the staff stay on top of making sure everyone was receiving the pins they were eligible for? *Totally not taking notes for our own awards system* Ah I think we adapted to discord well but I do attribute the launch of our discord to cannibalizing a chunk of our forum activity too. A few of us did raise that as a concern pre-launch but there was more of a push to launch the discord than to take it slowly and consider the implications on the website. I'm not against it and am glad we have a thriving community on there I think I just wish it was handled better at the time. And Daniel, I guess you could say he's our resident tech wizard, we've always gone to him for bugs and errors and what not. But he's also a supportive admin/owner in general like I've gone to him for non-tech issues as well and he's been able to help and steer things in the right direction.

I think I remember seeing the pin system while lurking one time! I thought it was cool, TWEWY inspired I'm guessing? Daniel comes on fairly frequently, I don't know if he'll necessarily engage in chit chat like you and I are having right now but if you have an issue or feedback regarding the site or discord server that you want him to look into he's usually pretty helpful and responsive.

Oh that's interesting! I thought it might be Spanish inspired with the double "Ls" So the only username color variations are those that correspond to different staff teams (blue for mods, yellow for news/archives/social media and red for Admins/Owners). We don't have a premium membership type of thing with exclusive areas for other members I'm not sure if one existed before I became a member here. I think we probably wanted everything to be inclusive to everyone because in the past there were a contingent of people who got carried away with things like # of posts # of likes etc and kind of displayed superiority over others because of it so we didn't want to encourage stuff like that. I know it might sound kind of lame, but just sharing my best guess. We do have an awards system so people can have cute little badges on their profiles for site achievements like # of posts and other contributions - but awards have to be distributed manually so admittedly we haven't kept up with it, its probably due for an overhaul haha.

Ah gotcha! Yeah this has always been my username here most people just call me Wakeless since the full thing is a bit of a mouthful haha. So basically our name changing system is that anyone can change their name on their own once per year and then if for some reason they need to go through another change but it hasn’t been a year yet they can just reach out to us and someone on the team will change it given it’s a good reason like if they had personal info on their username they wanted to scrub.

I wouldn't say I was a goofball here, there were definitely other members much more deserving of that title than myself, and you were probably more likely to find me in the serious discussion topics haha, but I didn't mind goofing off and just having fun with the community with all our inside jokes and random shenanigans that would go on here. Postbox sounds like a sweet concept! I'm sure the community over there really appreciated you running it and appreciated people sharing fun messages about them! Also that's cool that you were into art! Is your current avatar something you made yourself?

Hmm I guess just participate in random discussion topics with other people. When things were a bit more lively it seemed like there was a little bit of something for everyone whether it was KH related or not. One of my fav topics was a forum game called avoid the mods where regular members would count up for each post they made in the thread but if a mod came in the counter would reset to 0 and they’d have to start over. I loved letting them count up really high and then coming in at the last min to reset the counter, I’m sure they hated me for it

It definitely does! Most of the people I grew close to through here moved on a few years ago but we still keep in touch. They will jokingly ask me why I’m still here but I guess because this place means so much to me I’ve been here for all these years haha. Yep we’ve been on Invision Community ever since I’ve been on the site, I’m not sure if there was a different forum software being used in years prior but it’s always been Invision during my time here. I like it, don’t really have many complaints about it. I don’t think I’d actually heard of it before coming here as well though I didn’t frequent many Internet forums in general prior to this one.

Wow sounds like a pretty rich history with a broad spectrum of owners. It makes me feel a lot more gratitude that KH13 has essentially remained consistent under the original two owners/creators. I’m glad that KHV is under good ownership now, though it does suck about activity. I guess that’s just a general challenge forum sites face in this day and age with social media and places like discord being the preferred method for communication for a lot of people now. I do hope things change in the future especially in the lead up to KH4 whenever that may arrive but that’s me being optimistic.

They’re pretty chill. That’s wild that KHV changed hands a couple times, I can’t imagine going through different owners. How was that on the community and the staff?

I think it started around 2008 or 2009. I also became a staff member in 2013 so the parallels keep on coming haha. Khinsider is pretty alive and well last I checked. That’s actually the first KH forum I joined but then I found KH13 and just kind of stuck with it without looking back. I’m glad you like the forum-discord bridge! A lot of people usually prefer one platform over the other but the integration is nice. We have a separate mod team that handles the discord moderation, but we collaborate with them for issues that might impact both platforms. So I focus more on the website, technically we can mod the discord though if it’s urgent and no one else is available!

No way! I started out as a sectional mod here too! We also got converted to global mods and then after some time I got the opportunity to lead the team. Congrats on all the life milestones! It’s so funny to look back over the course of the series and see how much we’ve changed as people between then and now haha. I do hope you’re able to play the other games sometime soon and you’re able to enjoy them! Days is such a gem. I understand some of the criticisms about it and yeah I guess you could say it’s a bit dated now but some of the character interactions were hilarious like Jack Skellington creating a Roxas inspired scarecrow or Larxene telling Roxas to go bang his head on a window. The story and ending really got to me too. As for BbS Blank Points was such an effective build up for what was to come at the time and I really enjoyed getting to try out different play styles in Terra, Ventus and Aqua. Definitely some good times!
