  1. The Grimm took the first move, lunging towards Raevus with its fangs borne. Raevus dodged, slashing in wide circular arcs defensively. The Grimm seemed unaffected by the slashes and hissed at Raevus, striking again with blinding speed. Raevus was able to avoid its fangs, but it's body slammed him into a nearby tree. Hoisting himself up, Raevus sucked his teeth. Looks like I'll have to use my Semblance... as the Grimm searched for him, Raevus drew his signs. Fox Raevus placed his palm on the back of his bent fingers, laying two fingers on the knuckles and raising his index and pinky. Snake his hands seemed to glide into each other. The Grimm's fangs were borne, as Raevus finished the last sign. Bird, Raevus placed the tips of his fingers together, and towards his chest touched each index's knuckles. He swiftly broke the sign and twirled his sword in a horizontal figure 8. "Burn out..." Raevus grunted, as what seemed to be in an invisible flash, the Grimm was cut in a blinding fashion, thrashing about before collapsing. Raevus sheathed the blade, running towards the direction of Melody, when another earth-shaking screech sounded behind him. He turned to see the Grimm had shed itself, and had bounded for him. Raevus blocked the King Taijitu's fangs, but the sword flung out of his hand, lying on the ground. Raevus took one more look at the Grimm. "But don't be afraid..."
  2. My posts for this RP are pretty long, for whatever reason my creative head has given me, but if you guys need me to chill, I'll edit it.
  3. Raevus bounded through the trees, still no one or nothing in sight. That was, until he heard a screech from above — Melody's voice — and she was in lieu to a crash landing! Raevus yelled "Melody!" temporarily giving up his objective and leaping towards her. He fretted about her condition, and his head drew all sorts of negative scenarios. "Ra..." As Raevus leapt through the trees, an earth-shaking tremor rocked the landscape, causing him to slip and lose his balance. Pain shot through his elbow once he landed, like a coursing needle. "...The Grimm are born from fear." Raevus clenched his fist, and tried to rebound from the shock. But the tremor grew. Closer and closer... "The closer you get to the light..." Raevus witnessed the ground explode, and from it, a King Taijitu Grimm monster began to emerge. Raevus ran from it, in a fleeting decision. This test that Director Ozpin gave... What kind of insane thing was this? "...The greater your shadow becomes." Raevus ran towards the summit of a mountain in the forests' clearing, turning back to see the Grimm erect, as large as Beacon's tower. A sweat bead trickled slowly down his temple. Clenching his teeth, he clung to a thought. His grandmother's words. "But don't be afraid." Raevus drew his sword from his back, flipping it as he often saw his father do. He held it straight to his forearm, with the strength and focused look of his mother. Raevus' heart pounded, thudding immensely, but he'd no longer look back. This was his first test, the test to prove himself to his family, and to the school. Blood rushed, pumping through his veins. The blood of a Krysse. "You ready?" Raevus shouted to the beast. "Well come on!" The Grimm hissed in response, a trembling shriek, as both man and Grimm lunged towards each other.
  4. The exhilaration from the launch was extreme, but Raevus had been seasoned to land. Focusing his body, it was almost as if he were as light as a feather, yet slicing through the wind like a blade. When he came down, he landed atop a tree, which he punctured his knife and scaled downward into. Overgrown shrubs and weeds as well as trees taller than houses filled the area surrounding Raevus. Natural. Quiet. Tranquil. Raevus stood in silence, discerning the path towards the ruins. Retrieving the piece seems so easy... The hard part was the rest of Ozpin's warnings. Climbing back up on the tree branches, Raecus tried to make his way towards the ruins.
  5. Raevus was up next for the launch. One of the students, some sort of deer Faunus, was taken aback by the fact that the students were being launched. Raevus chuckled a little; he'd done this kind of thing, and much more back at home. Looking around at the other students, he spotted Melody and waved across the cliff to her. Nervous.... he noted. wonder if she can handle what's at this school. Taking his stand, Raevus waited until launch.
  6. Saved! Noire exclaimed silently. My, that was embarrassing.... Noire got up and brushed himself off, grinning to the woman. "Ah, so this is the stunning young lady whom I owe my life! How can I ever repay you?" Noire flashed a grin and a wink at the new White Lotus member. "For that, your wish is my command!" Noire bent flames, a brilliant blue, first at the guards that littered the entrance, then towards pipes in the vicinity. Flames erupted from the oil below, setting the room ablaze. The sprinklers rained on the laboratory's grand room. Without a weapon, and firebending weakened by the rain of water, Noire knew he was in an extremely tight position. Noire wanted to stay neutral, but.... If this was his best bet, then he'd take it.
  7. Noire sighed at this sorry sight. Not one, but two benders - one from the Red Lotus and the other from the White Lotus had shown up. Definitely not a good day for him. And they both wanted to kill him. How could he join either of them if THIS was what they looked like? "My, that ice is freezing!" Noire stated glumly. "Why, it's refreshing to see talent like this but-" he was quickly cut off by a guard who began to riddle bullets in his direction. One grazed his arm and wincing in pain, he stated "Er... Can we call a truce?" It was likely that Dalian couldn't have been the only White Lotus member who tried to infiltrate - from prior experience with the members, he's known that they travel together. How many were the question, and an important one about whether he'd be captured by either one or let escape.
  8. Raevus frowned. A permanent teammate for four years? That was unbelievably stupid. Getting to know someone by a glance wasn't the right way to go about it — what if he'd gotten paired up with someone who he butted heads with all the time? Raevus had no qualms getting to know people, but this... He kept his mouth shut though. Right now he'd focus on the task at hand. Letting out a sigh... He moved along with the motions.
  9. Noire's thoughts shattered at the sound of a-no, the freaking metal door actually shattered! To Noire's surprise, a stunning young lady — with an awfully loud mouth — crashed through. Scientists scattered, flooding the exit and evacuating immediately, but Noire.... My my, this Dalian was a pretty face to remember. "Ah, a White Lotus lady! Just what I'd expect!" Noire winked "You charm me, but in afraid I'm not truly associated with—" Noire was cut off by Dalian's swift advance towards him, hook swords ablaze. My my, a firebender he noted, then quickly, he tore off the scientist's garb and flung it at Dalian's face, swiftly dodging and retreating towards the exit. Nervously, Noire shouted "What a lady! To fight a man unarmed! Somehow dear..." He seemed to think for a bit, then smiled. "...It makes you even more charming!" Noire winked and grinned at the woman again. "The name's Noire, but I'm afraid your pretty face would have to wait a while to meet me again, darling. I'm not who you should be worried about..." Noire pointed towards the recovering guards and the Red Lotus symbol on the wall behind. "It's them."
  10. Noire kept calm. Chill, and relaxed - that's just his way. No matter if the guards, increasing in number, stood rigidly pointing their weapons towards the cluster of scientists - and himself. That's a lie. He was freaking out inside. But when it called for it, he stayed quiet. Tch! Should I let myself get caught? Should I let them catch me? Surely they've already been onto me. Agh, dammit. Thoughts ran through his head like a tornado in a hurricane. To Noire's surprise, however, many of the scientists were oddly frantic. One argued to a guard "Sir, there is a secourity breach! What kind of force is out there to infiltrate our base? Sure, if someone stole the information it would mean dude concequences, but even moreso if all this work had to be destroyed! We must send what we have to base at once!" The guard pushed him aside, grunting "Out of the way, general's orders!" Another man shuffled nervously, while a woman tried to calm him. Others freaked out about their work not getting done. So Noire remained quiet. Something might happen, maybe the intruders might barge into the room he was in. Either way, he had to plan his next move, so he waited.
  11. Raevus went with the motions of the next day, things weighing on his mind. He got to know other students at breakfast, then headed off to Beacon Cliff, weapon in tow.
  12. As the students fled in the frenzy of which they came, Raevus got a glimpse of the others. He'd never seen the Faunus before, so he was mesmerized at the amount of animal parts he saw around — rabbit ears, monkey tails, and sharp teeth. In a way, Raevus shifted slightly, discomfit by what he'd seen to say the least, but nevertheless, Faunus were people. So that was enough. He tried to ease his mind with that thought. Somehow, through the whirlwind of people, he'd lost sight of Melody. And everyone else seemed to be on their way, so Raevus decided to leave, hoping that they'd be meeting again soon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Raevus glinted in the bathroom mirror at his earring; a star-shaped icon with sharpened sides, like a Shiruken. It was a bit dull and worn after such long use. Before it was his, was his grandmother's, and great grandmother's before that. His wise grandmother used to always speak — 'This family artifact represents every bit of what we've accomplished, Ra. The Krysse family has toiled for generations creating something like this. Do you understand what this means?! It carries with it the very essence of your forefathers within! You child, now, you have it easy. But our family has been through burden and duty since the very beginnings of man of dust and of Grimm, Ra.' Raevus' grandmother would snap for his attention, as if her story was the most important thing in world. 'Ra, boy! You have a responsibility! To make our forefathers and your mother proud! When you carry this, the spirit of Krysse runs through your blood. You mustn't forget the power that family holds.' Raevus' grandmother was nearing the end of her years as of now. She'd grown old and her mobility grew shaky. It seemed to take the life from her to even make her own famous Eokuri, a specialty of hers. A "family secret" that she seemed to be taking with the grave to her. Raevus washed his face, and clasped the earring against his forefinger and thumb. It was a brittle, rough texture, hardened by generations of forgery. It was honestly an old piece of junk, but he wore it for his grandmother. Raevus walked out of the room, changing into a pair of sweatpants and a tank top that showed the outlines of his angular body, which was far too tight. Grandma insisted 'Ra, our Krysse men are born charmers. Yet, none to this day laid eyes on a passionate woman who'd keep up with them! Let me not catch you being the first!' The thought made him glance for Melody, but he immediately stopped as soon as he realized it. A sigh, and a smile aroused Raevus' lips at the memories he shared. Raevus picked a comfortable spot to rest at, and did just that after having friendly banter with some other students, and to his surprise even Faunus. At times, he couldn't tell them apart, but he was always reminded at the twitching ears or shaking tails. But alas, Beacon as Raevus' new home for awhile... He didnt mind at all.
  13. "Melody," Raevus whispered, letting the name sit on his lips a moment. Melody sure was a handful. Every word she said seemed aching with shyness as if she'd been facing a Grimm all alone. Or maybe she'd been super excited to attend Beacon and held it in? Raevus was like that sometimes, but when Melody dropped her pistols brushing against an oncoming student, Raevus thought she might be too entertained... "Nah, I've got it." Raevus knelt and handed the pistols to Melody, momentarily admiring them. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he beckoned "We better get a move on with the crowd. Wouldn't wanna stop traffic."
  14. Raevus was shaken for a moment at the girl's response, then immediately threw back his head and bellowed a laugh. He smiled again, saying "No need to worry about a thing." Her voice was small and thin. Raevus continued to try and push to seem as friendly as he could. "Yeah, I'm new here. By the looks of it, you are too." Tilting his head down in greeting, he introduced himself. "I'm Raevus. Rae, if you want." He looked back up at her, and said with a grin "...aaand I don't believe I caught yours."
  15. He didn't really want to save the world.... Just himself. That's why Raevus needed to come here. Among the other students, Raevus noted a girl. Her hair was blue, like a flowing river or clear sky. In a low, almost indistinguishable voice in the roaring sea of students, she was as wowed as Raevus. He stepped forward, looking straight ahead and said "Beacon's amazing, isn't it?" Turning to her, he let out a warm smile.
  16. Spite solves no answers, Neko-chan. Love, duct tape, and zip ties fix all.
  17. Amidst the calamity throughout the City of Vale for first year and returning students of Beacon, a cool, crisp air filled the city ~ and Raevus' lungs, a breath of fresh air to take in for his new home in Vale. He decided not to head straight to the school first, taking in the scenery. A man, old and frail (well past the age of retirement, to say the least) and with a bald patch covering the dome of his head tended to a Dust shop, 'From Dust til Dawn'. Dust crystals of all kinds illuminated the shop, and Raevus thought it amazing how such a resource like that could control almost every aspect of their lives, from technology to military use. Beacon's gates were indeed a sight to behold. The campus itself looked like its own city, and the school building, a castle. A mix of admiration and awe for the sheer work put into the school was an understatement; Raevus thought it was a goddamn spectacle. Crossing his arms and smiling, he almost got lost in the waves of students congregating and slowly making their way to Beacon's auditorium, instead taking a longer path through a courtyard. Raevus observed, quietly, the increasingly eager students. Every last one of them, out of what he'd seen, seemed to have excitement, human and Faunus. Nevertheless, it'd be quite the journey through Beacon.
  18. Yeah. I think I wasn't thinking straight and some things just came out confusing and weird. It's fixed. Don't worry about sounding harsh, it's your RP and you want it the way you want it to go, as should any RP host. So I'm cool with that.
  19. Xemnas was badass, but old man Nort is the real one who has everything all cunningly planned out and succeded in defeating three unlucky bastards and imprisoning them for more than ten years. He was a brain ninja to their relationship and placed every single piece in its proper place, including the death of Eraqus. One of the best villains ever made.
