  1. Fable Fable blinked, glancing up at the woman before her. Her breath caught in her throat as she laid eyes upon one of the most beautiful people she had ever met in her life, and she momentarily forgot that she was supposed to be doing her job. She gaped for a few seconds, before shaking her head and giving the newcomer a warm smile. "Good afternoon," Fable greeted, putting her work to the side. "Welcome to the library of Alaby; what can I do for you today?" ---------- Tobias "My thanks," Toby said. He stood back, watching as the wolf approached. Something about it seemed... off. It was only then that it dawned on Toby that the wolf had - it had talked to him! That... thing... wasn't natural. But he couldn't say that to anybody. Who would believe him? Heck, he didn't even believe himself - well, not entirely. The voice, though... it was definitely there. With a set jaw he looked at the guy called Gregory and nodded. "Do what you have to do."
  2. Tobias Toby barely registered the wolf before it pounced. Throwing his food to the side, he rolled off of the bench and away from the attack. He whipped his hand to his belt, looking for his blade, before remembering that he hadn't sheathed it this morning. With a curse he cast the wolf another glance, and began to run to the market stalls with a yell for help. "Wolf!" It wasn't often that an animal managed to get into the walls of the town, but when they did it usually meant more were loose as well. Toby continued shouting, stumbling over himself in his haste; it was only moments before he ran into a young girl with brown hair. Steadying himself, he held her arm and gasped for breath. "I apologise," he said, standing straight as he breathed heavily. He pointed towards the general direction of where the wolf had been, and when he continued he was hurried. "There's a wolf- and it attacked me. It'll probably go after others if it is hungry; we need to stop it. I would have myself, but I was unarmed."

  4. Fable It was nearly time for lunch, and truth be told, Fable was starving. Like usual she had woken up late for opening the library, and had rushed out of the house despite her mother's cries of, "wait! You forgot to eat!" It had been a quiet day so far (there were no busy days, really), and so the young woman had been working on the book logs. It was a relief when Luma came up to her asking if she could pop out to get some food, and Fable smiled warmly at her workmate - and friend. Closing the note book she had been working in, Fable stretched. "Luma, darling, you're a sweetheart; lunch would be fantastic," she winked. "And as for the letter of recommendation, I'll get to work on that right away." It was times like this that Fable couldn't help and feel guilty for being better off than most in Alaby. She didn't have to work, really, and was only in the library to keep her father happy - though she loved books, so it wasn't a chore by any means. Honestly, Fable was proud of people like Luma, of people who worked hard to actually get somewhere. Of course, she'd be more than willing to help the younger girl in any way possible. ---------- Tobias The streets of Alaby were always packed at this time. 'Places to go, people to see,' and what not. Tobias didn't really care for the crowds, but noon was the only time that he had a break from his stable work. And, truth be told, he enjoyed being able to get away from the horses, even for an hour or two - not that he didn't enjoy his job, of course. He adored it, more so than he cared to let on. The freedom the horses had, their beauty and grace... horses held many traits that he rarely saw within people. A paper bag was clutched in his hand, which had been browned by the sun in the few hours he had been working. Taking a seat on a bench, the stable boy pulled out an apple and bit into it, savouring the flavour. He looked up into the sky, watching the birds fly overhead in flocks. Toby smiled slightly, glancing back towards the floor. Birds and horses had one thing in common, he decided. Freedom.
