Eh, quite personally I feel it would be redundant seeing as how Axel had already died. I understand your reasoning but I feel as if there are other ways to add emotional turmoil besides character slaughter. I also don't see any reason to differentiate Roxas from Sora in terms of cheerfulness any further. In my own opinion Roxas is already quite the negative nancy. I would like to see his character developed more don't get me wrong, but I personally think there are others ways to do this than just character angst. That's just my own two cents anyways. Your reasoning has a point though.

I can sing it off the top of my head but as others have said, I don't find my Nation's dependent on whether or not I can sing these words or not. As someone whose first language isn't entirely english let me assure you there are different ways to express patriotism and gratitude beyond a song.

Favorite plot twist would have to be the revelation of Apprentice Xehanort's origin like you. Not so much a plot twist as much as it is a realization, but one of the most memorable parts in my history of playing Kingdom Hearts (which I credit as the start of my appreciation of Saïx) was when I replayed KHii and got to Saïx's boss battle. I had always been fond of him if purely for aesthetics, but hearing the line "Different Name, same fate." again after playing days forced me to realize I had been (potentially) interpreting that line wrong. That marks the first time I cried at Kingdom Hearts, as it hit me that Saïx lost his battle with Roxas and he indeed did suffer the same fate. Ouch.

Me: there's a lot of little quirks about Saïx that point to him being special. Nomura: //*writes things as he goes along and retcons like crazy* 420 blaze it

Warning: This is going to be rather sappy. As someone with self esteem issues and perfectionist tendencies, often my main source of motivation comes from the fear of failure. Thus why I was drawn to this topic as I'm curious to see how others motivate themselves in other healthier ways. I can also relate to Shinobi in the sense that I often use fictional characters to inspire me. Willpower is a trait I vastly admire and if a character demonstrates a lot of it it earns my respect. So even if things look bad just keep going never give up... don't be a failure because you're worth more....
