  1. I explained the post-production aspect a couple posts ago. It's just for the lighting, so I'm not sure why this should mean the game is close to completion. lol
  2. I suppose that I should also mention that post-production has only been mentioned in the job description of the lighting artist opening, meaning post-production is only being done for the lighting, not the entire game at this point.
  3. Of course I'm not saying it's not a very real possibility, but when people say it's confirmed, that's where the line has to be drawn.
  4. Yeah, this was mostly meant as a "spread the corrections" kind of post. Unfortunately, I've seen a large spike of false information being spread in the community, whether it be YouTube comments, Reddit, etc.
  5. Hey, guys. It's me. I'm making this post because of a VERY large misconception being spread through the community right now. As you know, there are positions open for the development of KH3 in Square Enix's 3rd Business Division. People such as production planners, lighting artist, effects designer, and assistant director are being hired to work on KH3. At the same time, more news is being pumped out such as the new release of a KH3 Sora Play Arts figure (which is very exciting, yes). Which brings us to the main problem here: people are taking all of this information and summarizing it into: "Hey! Kingdom Hearts III must be almost done!" However, that is definitely not a fact. You see, just because people are being hired does not mean that KH3 is almost done. In fact, that very info alone should convince us that it's not to be seen in the near future. Regardless, this information can still be taken positively as this means that KH3 is moving along very smoothly and we can expect a release not too far into the future. (especially the post-production part, although this doesn't entirely mean the game is close to completion) And, for some reason, people are getting the impression that a figure means a 2017 release for the actual game? I don't want to be pessimistic, but that's a pretty baseless opinion if you ask me. Now, it's no one's fault. However, many people are spreading this misinformation and are changing people's minds. For example: In this video, our good friend and a very popular person in the community, Jared, tells us about the new jobs open in Square Enix. However, people are taking away from this that this means KH3 is almost complete. (The title doesn't really help, considering it's speculation) This results in comments like these: Now, of course, we never said at any point that KH3 is almost done, we simply asked a question (which would be if we think it might be). However, to some people, this question is seen more as a fact than speculation, which will lead to people receiving false info in their head and spreading more complaints and negativity when the false fact is, of course, not true. Which brings me to my main point: speculation is fine, in fact, it's encouraged. However, when people say that something related to Kingdom Hearts points to a 2017 release, even when it doesn't correlate to the actual release date, we're spreading misinformation in the community and bringing people's hopes up. So, I encourage everyone to speculate as much as they want, but we should analyze something before making concrete conclusions like "KH3 is definitely coming out in 2017", especially when the word doesn't come from Nomura, Hashimoto, Yasue, etc. Just be careful what you tell people, because even the smallest of information can blow up, especially when it comes to this franchise. I hope we can spread corrections to false information, so we can instead remain an informed community not confused by rumors. None of this post was aimed at anyone, and it was just a problem that I saw arising with the sudden influx of news. So, I hope you take something from this! Have a nice day. PS: Please don't attack anyone for misinformation, and instead remain as calm and collected as you can. This post is solely meant to be informative and a place for discussion.
  6. Er...if you could grab that interview, that would be helpful. As far as we know, development only started as early as 2013.
  7. I know that information already, I was just making note of that. Sora96 also made a thread about it back in February 2015, although I doubt a lot of it is up to date anymore. http://kh13.com/forum/topic/84485-square-enix-business-divisions/
  8. Note that translated from the top of the page, Square Enix is actually hiring for the 3rd Business Division, and our old friend Hashimoto is pictured there too. Always nice to see what the business divisions are up to. lol
  9. PC gaming is more expensive? lol, not really. I bought parts for a PC that totalled around $300 (100 dollars cheaper than a PS4 or Xbox One at launch) and it ran most games at around 30 FPS. You just need to know what you're buying and what it's compatible with, instead of just saying "oh, hey, this CPU is 500 dollars, so my PC's good now."If you use Steam, there are sales on even AAA games very often so a game that's normally $60 may be $40 on sale or even $30 (it's happened). Even if Steam prices are too expensive for you, there are also other online digital marketplaces for games such as G2A (although it may not be as trustworthy as Steam).Yes, DDD ran at 60 FPS on the PS4 but it was also originally on the 3DS, a handheld with various limitations that made it impossible to be 60 FPS (hence the sudden FPS drops when facing a horde of enemies). Because the PS4 is a console with proper parts that can handle those graphics and much more, it was likely hardly a challenge to upgrade the game to 60 FPS. However, Kingdom Hearts III from what we've seen so far is a very graphically intensive game with environmental effects, much more refined models and graphics, and much more going on behind the scenes. While, from what we've seen so far, it's not as intensive a game as FFXV, it won't be nearly as easy to bump to 60 FPS as DDD on PS4 was. I can see it being 30 FPS no problem at this point, but anything above that could be trouble at this rate.
  10. If you're not Mystic, you're an enemy.
  11. pfft, Team Valor? Team Mystic forever.
  12. Having a reason to go outside and finally get some Vitamin D in my life.
  13. join my ship, felixx it has a hot tub and a fancy restaurant
  14. Well, that's a good way to be optimistically pessimistic if I do say so myself.
  15. Very good chapter! I love the interactions between Noctis and Ben. It's very clear they're shaping up to be good friends at this point.
  16. If the URL has https at the beginning, try changing it to http. For whatever reason, this site does not allow https images for many things such as signatures.
  17. 'Cuz Nomura didn't plan that far ahead at the time of KH1.
  18. Oh, boy. Look, I don't care if you're more on the liberal side or more of the conservative side. That's irrelevant here. Do we really need to bring up what news outlet this is coming from when the fact is that people died? It doesn't matter if they were a police officer, a black person, a white person, etc. Multiple innocent people died. I understand what you're saying, but there's no reason to call out KingdomHearts3 for not making a post about Alton Sterling. His death was definitely a crime committed by an officer from what we've seen so far, but just because he never posted about that doesn't make it any less significant than Dallas. If we're going to talk about this, we need to stop worrying about what media outlet we get news from because, let's be honest, there will always be bias in any type of media even in the smallest form. There's also no justification for death, no matter what incidents may have occurred.
