FFXV's release date delayed to November 29
A FF subforum probably wouldn't be necessary considering this is a Kingdom Hearts board, plus the Video Games section exists. However, I agree that it would be nice to have one.

Addressing Rumors: Kingdom Hearts III was not listed for Nintendo NX by EB Games AU
I mean, it was obviously fake anyway. With KH3 still in its core development, there would be no reason for Square Enix to inform retailers of an NX release in its current state (that is, if they were planning to release it for the NX in the first place). Square Enix was an early receiver of the NX development kits, so if they were going to release it for the NX, they would have said it by now. It's not like it's a huge announcement meant for places like E3 or TGS.

Final Fantasy XV's Delay Worries Me...
Well, you know, not all of Tokyo Team is working on KH3. Nomura himself stated that only a small percentage of the team is actually working on the game at this point which means that there's no reason that KH3 should be slowed down at all. People are upset over the delay because of the Uncovered event, but really there's no reason to be angry. At the time of the event, Tabata and his team were under the impression that they'd be able to release the game in September and have it as polished as possible by then. But, obviously, after the event they started noticing some issues and optimizing that would be required if they wanted the game in a perfect state. "But wait, Tabata himself said he could include this in a Day One Patch, didn't he? There's no reason they should have delayed it!" Sure, maybe for you since you have Internet, but there are some people who don't have Internet or might not have Internet at the time of the game's acquirement. I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd rather insert the disc and play rather than wait for a patch to install, or even worse, not get the patch at all due to the lack of Internet. We assume the majority of customers will have a connection, but really we don't know Square Enix's demographics. Only they do from the information they gather via surveys, consumer research, etc. Tabata is human too, and humans make mistakes. I think it's perfectly fine to accept his apology and wait another two months (everyone claims they've been waiting 10 years, so you'd think 2 months would be a pretty easy wait lol) for the completely polished game to come out. Not only that, the game comes out nearer to the holidays giving people more time or opportunity to receive the game closer to its release and play it during their designated vacations (if they have one, of course). As for 2.8, there's no reason Square Enix would delay it. It's clearly not a flagship game for the year and I doubt they're expecting it to sell as well as FFXV anyway, so they probably aren't even worrying about it. They've already garnered attention from its demos at multiple conventions and the trailer released on YouTube, and no further amount of promotional content (not including events like Tokyo Game Show, of course) for the game would be worth it to Square Enix. FFXV will sell well for them as it is, so even if 2.8 doesn't sell as well as expected, it'd be no problem for them. In short: worrying is a waste of time for this situation.

FFXV's release date delayed to November 29
Eh. Doesn't matter to me. I've been waiting for the game a long time (not for 10 years, but for a good while). I think I can stomach two more measly months, it's not going to end my life.

Kingdom Hearts III placeholder for Nintendo NX
If the PS4 and Xbox One are powerful enough to handle KH3's graphics, there should be no problem with keeping it that way for those specific consoles. If the NX is unable to handle the intensity of the game at the same level, they must simply port it to NX and tone down the graphics. Look at AAA games like GTA V, Watch_Dogs, etc., that did the same. I might be misunderstanding your post, though so forgive me if I am.

Let's Talk About KH3 and Its "Post-Production"
Precisely that.

Let's Talk About KH3 and Its "Post-Production"
Hey, guys. Once again, it's me. I thought I'd start a topic relating to the recent chatter about "KH3's post-production." It seems a lot of people are getting confused and conflicted about where KH3 actually is right now, post-production-wise, after the revelation that job openings have appeared looking for someone who could be a lighting artist and also be involved in the general post-production of the game. I'm going to be telling you what this most likely means from an analytical standpoint so as not to get too caught up in what-if's. And if this is the case, why don't we recap the events and evidence from a couple days ago? On July 19, SnowPint7Fourths reported to us that there were new job openings at Square Enix's 3rd Business Division (the division responsible for the development of all of the recent KH titles including the HD collections and Kingdom Hearts III), including one that particularly caught people's eyes: Note that the above is obviously translated by Google Translate, so the grammar will not be perfect. However, it's safe to assume that post-production is definitely not an error that even Google Translate could've made. After the above information was pointed out, a news article on the main homepage (the page most people not in the community check when they immediately enter the site) was shortly created by Logan (Toominator), the leader of the News Team here at KH13. Because of its appearance, many large Kingdom Hearts-focused YouTubers such as TheGamersJoint and HMK excitedly made videos speculating about the current state of KH3. Both of them seemed to be under the assumption that KH3 could be close to its completion. However...could this be wrong? Well, let's take a closer look. The portion of this job description that's more significant than anything else can be found below. Now, from the title of the job and the main focus of the job description, it's quite obvious that their duty will mostly be to work on the game's lighting so as to avoid, as Dean (Soraalam1) would say, plastic doll-looking characters and work on other lighting-related aspects of the environment. However, the description also specifies "post-production business in general," which seems to allude to the fact that "GAAAAHHH THE GAME'S IN POST-PRODUCTION NOW, WE CAN ALL CHEER YAY", right? Unfortunately, that may not be the case. You see, post-production in filmmaking, the creation of video games, and other miscellaneous processes usually refers to the editing of existing assets to make them look more...polished or make them look neater/finished (keep in mind this doesn't always take place after the near-completion of the product; this can take place after assets are already created for a specific portion). But, hang on...if they need to do that, they can't just simply look at something like an entire world and say, "I know absolutely anything and everything that I need to do with this world!" After all, that would lead to something much different from what the creators had envisioned, what the environment artist envisioned, and most of all, what we envisioned. This means that people hired for post-production, especially for an entire video game, will need to be drilled on what kind of edits they should be trying to make so that they can do the awesome job we expect them to do. Another thing: upon this job listing, we can't just automatically assume they already have everyone they need, can we? It obviously seems like they're trying to coax new employees to join the company, which means another thing: orientation (yes, the dreaded part in the process of getting a new job ). Not only can this job listing possibly be up for an upwards of a couple months, but the orientation may last for a week to a couple of weeks, which could add on another couple months before those people finally get to their jobs. Even then, how do we know they're already working on post-production? The listing clearly asks for someone who will be mainly focusing on lighting, who would also stay on the crew after that's complete to work on post-production of the game. After all, these people's jobs would be made much harder if they had to focus on two jobs at once, wouldn't they? And, as a result, this would obviously mean their progress would be slowed down, leading to an even later release of KH3. In short, being hired for post-production doesn't necessarily mean post-production is taking place at this current moment in time. That being said, this doesn't mean that KH3 hasn't made any significant progress. After all, if they hadn't made progress, why would they tell us to wait for winter for more announcements regarding the game? Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps you! PS. This post was meant for informative purposes. I'm not saying all of this is fact, and some of it is even a little speculation on its own. However, I think this definitely makes a lot more sense than post-production already happening because a lighting artist is being hired. Feel free to debate on this topic as you please and correct any of this information if it seems wrong to you.

literally the worst time for this
Of course, in the midst of arguments over job openings... Any other accusations of Square being Troll Enix is wrong. THIS is the true Troll Enix.

Soul_Seeker's status update
The game is not in post-production, Square Enix are only hiring people who will be used for lighting AND post-production when the time comes.

Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
I explained the post-production aspect a couple posts ago. It's just for the lighting, so I'm not sure why this should mean the game is close to completion. lol

- Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
I suppose that I should also mention that post-production has only been mentioned in the job description of the lighting artist opening, meaning post-production is only being done for the lighting, not the entire game at this point.- Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
Of course I'm not saying it's not a very real possibility, but when people say it's confirmed, that's where the line has to be drawn.- Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
EDIT: It's likely a joke, but people might actually believe this.- Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
Yeah, this was mostly meant as a "spread the corrections" kind of post. Unfortunately, I've seen a large spike of false information being spread in the community, whether it be YouTube comments, Reddit, etc.- Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
Hey, guys. It's me. I'm making this post because of a VERY large misconception being spread through the community right now. As you know, there are positions open for the development of KH3 in Square Enix's 3rd Business Division. People such as production planners, lighting artist, effects designer, and assistant director are being hired to work on KH3. At the same time, more news is being pumped out such as the new release of a KH3 Sora Play Arts figure (which is very exciting, yes). Which brings us to the main problem here: people are taking all of this information and summarizing it into: "Hey! Kingdom Hearts III must be almost done!" However, that is definitely not a fact. You see, just because people are being hired does not mean that KH3 is almost done. In fact, that very info alone should convince us that it's not to be seen in the near future. Regardless, this information can still be taken positively as this means that KH3 is moving along very smoothly and we can expect a release not too far into the future. (especially the post-production part, although this doesn't entirely mean the game is close to completion) And, for some reason, people are getting the impression that a figure means a 2017 release for the actual game? I don't want to be pessimistic, but that's a pretty baseless opinion if you ask me. Now, it's no one's fault. However, many people are spreading this misinformation and are changing people's minds. For example: In this video, our good friend and a very popular person in the community, Jared, tells us about the new jobs open in Square Enix. However, people are taking away from this that this means KH3 is almost complete. (The title doesn't really help, considering it's speculation) This results in comments like these: Now, of course, we never said at any point that KH3 is almost done, we simply asked a question (which would be if we think it might be). However, to some people, this question is seen more as a fact than speculation, which will lead to people receiving false info in their head and spreading more complaints and negativity when the false fact is, of course, not true. Which brings me to my main point: speculation is fine, in fact, it's encouraged. However, when people say that something related to Kingdom Hearts points to a 2017 release, even when it doesn't correlate to the actual release date, we're spreading misinformation in the community and bringing people's hopes up. So, I encourage everyone to speculate as much as they want, but we should analyze something before making concrete conclusions like "KH3 is definitely coming out in 2017", especially when the word doesn't come from Nomura, Hashimoto, Yasue, etc. Just be careful what you tell people, because even the smallest of information can blow up, especially when it comes to this franchise. I hope we can spread corrections to false information, so we can instead remain an informed community not confused by rumors. None of this post was aimed at anyone, and it was just a problem that I saw arising with the sudden influx of news. So, I hope you take something from this! Have a nice day. PS: Please don't attack anyone for misinformation, and instead remain as calm and collected as you can. This post is solely meant to be informative and a place for discussion. - Why Kingdom Hearts III Is NOT Confirmed for 2017
