So I had an artist's image appear on my Tumblr Newsfeed of an anime I have not watched in a long time, and it had me thinking why not start a good old Anime Nostalgia topic here. Always interested in some good old nostalgia. And for anyone interested the one I am referencing is "King Of Bandit Jing."

Well I've made this bleach ending thread like 6 times because shounen jump keep pushing it further and further but Bleach 686 is out on the 18th of August! Post your thoughts about the chapter here

Black Clover is written by Yuuki Tabata, it follows the story of Asta (or Aster) who dreams of becoming the Sorcery Emperor (The equivalent of Pirate King or Hokage). He's got this rival called Juno who one ups him in everything (Juno looks like Sasuke and also Zeref from Fairy Tail). Aster is born without mana (basically chakra) so he sucks at being a wizard. Aster is poor and comes from the bottom of his own society. Wizards/mages form these little guilds and using their grimoires they cast spells. So that's all you need to know about the world for now. Is Black Clover a 'good' shounen battle manga in these 74 chapters so far? Short answer-If you love Naruto and Fairy Tail, you'll eat this up. I recommend you read it. Long answer Most battles are resolved with friendship power ups *vomits but it's done in a decent way that's somewhat believable. It's a notch above how painfully Fairy Tail does it. The artwork reminds me of Bleach a lot, current Bleach not old Bleach. The author uses these huge panels to show off his art style, especially during fights. Unfortunately, the fights aren't very clear and it's hard to see what's going on (The Water Temple Arc is the main example of this problem). However, the panels are spaced out well and unlike Bleach there's a good amount of dialogue and you can get through a chapter in a good amount of time (4-5 minutes). There's a lot of meat to these chapters in short. Story? Like I stated, it's Naruto and Fairy Tail's love child. The main character is a loser who rises his way up through the ranks with willpower, luck and the help of his friends from his guild. Although the friendship power ups were cringy, it's still bearable to an extent. The teamwork aspect is enjoyable and a good method of avoiding random power ups at the last second. But like I said-the friendship power up is still present in this manga. If I were to describe this manga in a single word it would be 'disappointing'. The way the world is established it seems like this vast open world with a bunch of awesome locations! Sounds great doesn't it? Wizards, magic, grimoires, villages, kingdoms and mythical monsters! But so far the manga has just repeated itself. Aster goes on a mission or quest, villains show up out of nowhere, aster and his friends team up and use friendship to kill the bad guy. The last 3 arcs have been this. I'll give the manga a pardon for Aster's first quest since it wasn't repetitive back then. This manga suffers from the same problem that Fairy Tail does. I'll use the Water Temple Arc as an example to express my feelings. We get there and we see this huge temple with all these people and then instantly we're thrown into yet another batch of fights with ZERO build up. No time to explore the temple, meet people and learn their stories or learn about the temple-just a random batch of fights won in the most mediocre way possible. I'll compare this to Land Of Waves in Naruto since these arcs are extremely similar. We get to the village in that manga/anime, but a whole before that we've already met our villain-Zabuza. Naruto and Sauske train together, we learn about that village's past and we meet the young boy and the family of the construction worker. We learn how the boy's father sacrificed himself to save the village (Or something like that). We KNOW the history and the backstory of the place we're in. Black Clover doesn't do that at all. Without build up, how can I possibly care about anything this arc has to offer me? We do learn partial back stories for the main characters but those are thrown in randomly and it's typical shounen shit anyway. Characters? These are actually quite tolerable and entertaining from time to time. A few of the characters have a sort of personal goal they have to reach. Aster wants to be Sorcery Emperor, Noelle wants to prove her family wrong, Grey wants to protect his sister, Leopold and Juno also want to be Sorcery Emperor. It'd be great if we could get inside their minds a little more. I do feel that the main character's development is way to fast. Chapter 1 he's weak as shit and 30 chapters later he's magically strong and taking out all of these different villains. It should be more of a journey to become stronger than a race. The verdict? So far I'd give this manga a 5 which is an average on My Anime List. Very average indeed. Like I've stated, if you love or like Naruto and Fairy Tail then I recommend this manga for you. I know there is a big Fairy Tail fan base on here, so that's why I'm doing this. Of course this manga is nowhere near completion so my opinion will definitely change within the next 100 chapters or so. I'd like to see an anime adaptation of this manga within the next year and I hope the current arc is good!

So there's this new horror manga out called the promised Neverland. The first chapter came out on August 8th, there are only 2 chapters out so far. I can't say much without spoiling it but this manga will blow up more than likely in the next year or so. To keep it short, there are a bunch of kids who live in an orphanage and everything is so perfect until the 3 protagonists make a huge discovery that changes everything. Never heard that one before

Hello good people of KH13! I've been watching a lot of anime lately, and would like your recommendations for some new anime. Some of my favorite anime are: Inuyasha Rurouni Kenshin Black Cat Attack on Titan Naruto franchise Claymore Sword Art Online 1 & 2 Full Metal Panic franchise Vampire Knight 1 & 2 I heavily prefer dub, but can deal with sub if it's a really good anime.

I was going to make this thread on thursday when the chapter comes out but I'm in America then, so I wouldn't be able to add pictures or anything like that. As most of you know or may not know, Tite Kubo's Bleach manga has been forced to end by Shounen jump (supposedly) and will end on thursday with chapter 685. This is really sad to see since we aren't getting a proper ending and we still have a ton of questions left to answer which may not get answered. Bleach used to be one of the BIG 3, with Naruto and One Piece but over the years the popularity has declined since the anime finished. The manga sells pretty well though regardless. A lot of people have sort of grown up with Bleach (not me ) and it'd be cool if we could all share some personal experiences on here since it is ending. With the anime or the manga, even both is fine. Even if you've only seen 1 episode or read half a chapter, feel free to post your experience with the series. I know a lot of people hate Bleach for a bunch of different reasons but since this is an appreciation thread let's keep negativity to a minimum. Mine I've only spent a few months with this manga but it really got to me emotionally. It's going to suck not being able to see any new material (PS I ship them so badly) Feel free to share your experiences with the anime or the manga !

The new Kuroshitsuji Movie has been announced, it will be animated like Book of Murder was. I proudly present... Kuroshitsuji: Book of Atlantic! This will be based entirely off of the Kuroshitsuji Campania Arc from the manga... meaning we will see... The movie will be released Spring 2017...and remember... we are....

So I was wondering which anime to watch next and I came across Fullmetal Alchemist. Theres the normal one and brotherhood. As far as I understood you can watch brotherhood without knowing the other one, is that correct?

I love shounen. I like seeing people fight each other to save the universe and to save their friends. I like long stories because it's fun to look back on the first chapters/episodes. Shounen is nice and easy to get into, it's something that you don't have to constantly focus on. Most shounen are quite simplistic , you can just put your feet up and watch a bunch of people smack each other around. It's fun to watch In every form of entertainment, you have the simple stuff and the complex stuff, manga is no different. In music you have songs for parties that are loud and intimidating, and then you have songs with really complex lyrics that you'd listen to alone. It's the yin and the yang, sometimes you want to see a bunch of fights and explosions and crazy stuff, other times you want a complex story. Some shounen do a phenomenal job of pulling off both a complex story and a simplistic one all at once, Hunter x Hunter 2011, One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho can do both .

Sad times :( For the 15th anniversary we're getting a colour chapter and that's it then. No sequel or spin offs or anything. The anime might come back.

Now the bleach manga has been confirmed to end in less than 10 weeks, if you know the story then ya know that there is no possible way to tie up all the important loose ends and add in all the necessary flashbacks within this time. Watched the 2nd episode of the Danganropa 3 despair arc anime. Guys if you watch the video til the very end you WILL see Fuyuhiko's sister. They'll definitely show how and who murdered Fuyyuhiko's sister in the anime. OMG i'm so excited!

Dads in manga, especially shounen have a tendency to be terrible fathers and just bad people despite being overpowered. I'll go with Ging.

I want to preface this by saying I havn't actually watched Super, but I've been spoiled a lot by YouTube recomendations.So for those of you who are current on Super, you'll know that SSB does not replace the previous SSJ forms but rather is a sort of advance branch created by infusing SSJ with Godly Ki. You'll also know that SSB has much better Ki control than any of the SSJ forms (in excange for a Stamina drain making repeated, successive transformations less effective.), allowing Ki draining techniques like the Kaio-Ken to be used in conjunction with it. As we know, the reason SSJ2 and 3 where more or less retired was because the Ki drain far outweighed the benefits. My question to you is, do you think, with SSBs Ki Control limiting Ki drain, could there be a posibility of SSJ2 or 3? I'm not asking if you think it will actually happen, but merely if it's possible, something that could happen regardless of whether or not it actually does.

I looked at a certain site that talked about the first season of the anime and people are saying that it has a terrible dub. I disagree with them. I think it has a pretty good dub.
