Following the release of her book, Kingdom Hearts II, published by Bossfightbooks, Alexa Ray Corriea agreed to speak with staff member Toominator to discuss major aspects of the book and also talk a bit about the recent and coming trailers for Kingdom Hearts III. Alexa has been a games journalist for various video game news sites such as GameSpot and Polygon, and now dubs herself a full-time author. Her book is essentially a collection of essays analyzing some of the deeper themes and character tropes seen throughout Kingdom Hearts II, while also including a bit of Alexa's own personal connection to the series. In this interview/podcast, both Toominator and Alexa explore these analyses and give listeners a good overview of what readers can expect from the book, while also discussing the topics further - going beyond what is in the book itself. During the Tamashii Nations 10th Anniversary World Tour, various new S.H.Figuarts figures were revealed for the first time. Among these new figures, a Sora (Kingdom Hearts II ver.) figure was shown off. This Kingdom Hearts II Sora figure comes with a stand, and does indeed have articulation. Tamashii Nations 10th Anniversary World Tour is an event to celebrate the anniversary of Bandai's Tamashii Nations line of figures and memorabilia. It's being held from December 2016 to November 2017. It's coming to Brazil, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, and United States. During its time at Osaka, Japan, from May 27, 2017 to May 28, 2017, the Sora figure, along with the other figures mentioned, were revealed. This figure is being released for the Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary, and will be released in November. It will be exhibited at the Bandai booth at the Tokyo Toy Show on June 1, 2017. Also, familiar Disney characters will be joining in the future. UPDATE 5: During the Tokyo Toy Show, the S.H.Figuarts Sora figure was being displayed. Several other Kingdom Hearts S.H.Figuarts figures were shown off as well, which include Mickey Mouse in his black coat, Donald Duck, and Goofy. They are all their versions from Kingdom Hearts II. There's currently no pricing info or release date for the Mickey, Donald, and Goofy figures. An official Kingdom Hearts PROPLICA Kingdom Key Keyblade was shown off at the Tokyo Toy Show as well. This prop replica of the iconic Kingdom Key is also being made by Bandai. Yen Press will be releasing Kingdom Hearts II: The Novel Volume 1 in English on June 20, 2017 at an original retail price of $16.00 USD. Pre-orders are available now at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Book Depository, and RightStuf. This is the first announcement regarding the publication of this volume outside of Japan, where it was published on April 22, 2006. The Kingdom Hearts II light novel series, written by Tomoco Kanemaki, with illustrations by Shiro Amano, and concept by Tetsuya Nomura, finished in Japan in 2007, and now it is finally being released in English as well. The Japanese Kingdom Hearts II light novel series had four volumes, but for the English series, they've decided to combine them all together to create two large volumes. Kingdom Hearts II: The Novel Volume 1 contains volumes 1 and 2 of the original Japanese series, while the upcoming Kingdom Hearts II: The Novel Volume 2 will contain volumes 3 and 4 of the original Japanese series. Game Informer will feature a Top 100 RPGs of All Time list in the June 2017 issue. The cover for the issue has been revealed showing the major characters in many of the RPG-style games.
