  1. Alright so, I think I've solved some of the main mysteries regarding the series around the world of union cross but I'm no expert so if I missed anything or you could add to the discussion that would be great, but I really think I'm on to something here So, what we know so far, the world of Union Cross is a virtual replica of the world of Chi which is the actual story of the events that led to the keyblade war of old then after the world perished and was reborn the the data of what happened was used in creating a virtual copy which would be used to study that history and how to prevent that scenario from happening. After the events of the war take place in Union Cross we start meeting new characters that weren't present in the original Chi, the first one we want to focus on is Ventus, for obvious reasons, we know he comes from a time that's definitely after the keyblade war, after the worlds were reborn and separated so how is he back? another charater we meet is Lauriam the original Marluxia(and just now we were introduced to Erlena who later becomes Larxene) what's important about Lauriam is that he looks noticeably younger than Marluxia (we know people may change a bit when they become nobodies but nothing as drastic as aging 10 years) so I believe Lauriam is the key to connecting Ventus to this era, we have just been looking at it backwards. It is not that Ven traveled back in time, but the world of Union Cross was created much much later, specifically around the Birth By Sleep Era, there is a lot of evidence that leads me to believe this is the case like This would place Lauriam in the correct age range (he was probably born around the same time as Isa & Lea, whose younger selves we met during BBS) Ventus is shown in his BBS clothes except missing one thing, his should pauldron which he uses to summon his armor, but! there is one instance during Birth By Sleep where he was seen wearing no pauldron, during his time training with Master Xehanort to extract his darkness before his heart is fractured and falls in a coma This takes place during a flashback and there is an unespecified amount of time that takes place during the gap between Ventus' heart being fractued and his arrival to the land of departure, it was shown that Xehanort was ready to give up on Ven waking up and took him to destiny islands to die I propose that during that gap Ven was used to experiment and research the new virtual world that was developed, but who created that world? Xehanort in an attempt to unlock the secrets of the past? No, he has never been shown to be know about creating that sort of thing, but we know of another character who has done just that, recreate worlds in the datascape and transport people there without them even knowing it I believe Ansem the Wise created the world of Union Cross, true he has never been shown talking about the keyblade war but I think he is more connected to the past than we know, first of all, he is ansem the WISE, king of radiant garden, so it would make sense for a wise king to know about the events of the past that regular people ignore, even Kairi's grandma knew a bit about how the world ended and was reborn so it is confirmed that knowledge of the old world reached radiant garden at least in some form So, Ansem the Wise managed to get a hold of Ven's body for a while, scanned him and added him to the world, maybe he thought that as a keyblade weilder his heart would help his simulated world be more accurate Here's where I must say I DO NOT CLAIM TO KNOW HOW ANSEM THE WISE GOT A HOLD OF VENTUS, maybe Xehanort, having his own desire to know about the past allowed the experiment to take place and after he Ventus could no longer be useful, that's when he took him to destiny islands (Xehanort would obviously have to hide his identity since when Ansem find the amnesiac Terra-nort and hears his name he does not react to it, and it would make sense, Xehanort wouldn't like others, like Eraqus, discover what he was doing) Earlier I said Ansem the Wise (ATW) may know more about the world before the keyblade war than he lets on and that there is something else that connects him to the past, something that I noticed long ago but couldn't find a solid reason for it to exist in such detail During Kingdom Hearts we not only learn about ATW's knowledge of creating virtual worlds and encoding real world objects into data, we learn that the old mansion in twilight town serves as his hideout/research lab but if we explore the place and pay attention to it's surroundings we can find something peculiar, all around the mansions we see iconography of something very important, we see images and sculptures of unicorns adorning the whole placethe unicorn being the symbol of one of the foretellers in chi/union cross So what if ATW in his research over the years found this information and tried to learn more about this old world (maybe he believed Ira as the Leader would be the one who held the answers so he aligned himself with his union) Skipping over a bit, during the new cutscene added to Re:Coded we see Maleficent talk about the similarities to between the datascape and the tome of prophecies and a few weeks ago we discovered that the Maleficent in UC is not a virtual character but the true maleficent, whose heart traveled back in time after being defeated in KH1 and is trying to change her fate, but instead of traveling to her true past she was (somehow) trapped in a virtual past by a hooded character refering to himself only as "darkness", since they don't want her interfering with the future and the plans they have, this had led many to believe this "darkness" to be Xehanort since he knows about time travel and has big plans in store, but I don't think that's the case, I believe, again this darkness is our man, Ansem the Wise, he also has been conducting research all this time and would want an uncontrolled outside force to interfere with it, and taking care of the easy one, the figure calls himself "Darkness", what other name has Ansem given himself? DiZ: DARKNESS in Zero So Ansem as the administrator of this virtual world would have no problem in controlling anyone inside his world/software this would help his research to continue on. And I believe this research, this knowledge of the past studied to prevent a future disaster is the very same research that has been alluded by him all these games, the very same research that he hid inside Sora while he was asleep, the knowledge to finding yourself or your lost friends in your hour of need Back to Maleficent, we know she traveled back in time and I stated how the world of UC was created around the time of BBS, but we don't really know how long it lasted so it could be that, maleficent traveled back to the time of BBS trying to undo her defeat during that game, but was trapped in a virtual world by Ansem and during the time she spent there the other events of BBS took place and then the betrayl by Xehanort and the other apprentices, when ATW was betrayed and sent to the realm of darkness that's when Maleficent, without Ansem eye on her, was able to escape and return to the real world, to the time of KH2 So in conclusion Ansem the wise wanted to know more about the keyblade war in order to prevent it and protect all worlds, using the knowledge he gathered over the years he created a virtual simulation of that era (probably thanks to Xehanort's own plans) added Ventus in an effort to enhance the world by adding a true keyblade weilder, Lauriam and Erlena were also added (we could think of them as a sort of Beta testers), they might've lost their hearts at the end of the simulation in whatever way that happens, at the same time Maleficent is trapped in the virtual world by Ansem to prevent her from changing history, the simulation continues, Xehanort takes Ventus back to destiny islands and the events of the games take place from BBS to KH2 by this time ATW has been sent to the realm of darkness and returned as DiZ, maleficent escapes the datascape (because UC is just another datascape, that's why the world of the journal in Re:Coded seems familiary to her) and Ansem after experiencing all he has, and gaining all that knowledge over the years, takes his data and places it inside a sleeping Sora, hoping that somehow the experiences of the past help save the future PHEW.... so that's it. I know some parts are out of order but im writting all this from ideas I had on my head and giving it structure as I go on, I hope you found in interesting and bring forth your own ideas about what you think I got right or not so right Thans for reading! May your heart be your guiding key
  2. Hey guys. So I'm at work right now (don't judge me; it's insanely dead and I'm suuuuuuper bored) and I was just browsing on the Kingdom Hearts wiki to pass the time when I learned something interesting. Apparently both Ava and Luxu from KHUX both have names derived from the latin words for two of the seven deadly sins (greed and lust, respectively). This intrigued me, and after I did some digging I learned that all of the Master of Master's apprentices have names like this: Invi is envy, Aced is sloth, Ira is wrath, and Gula is gluttony. Even more interesting is that apparently each foreteller's union has an animal that is associated with each sin (with the exception of Gula for some reason). This blew my mind, and I immediately suspected that the Master of Masters' true name must be derived from the latin word for pride, because that is the only sin missing here. This got me thinking: do Sora and his friends mirror this trope? Maybe each guardian of light will represent a different deadly sin like the foretellers. What do you guys think? Have you noticed any other symbolism in the series? Do you think this will be expanded upon in Kingdom Hearts III, or do you think it's just kind of a cool connection?
  3. Hey there, everyone! It's me, Veemon, and I'm finally back, to kick, some, tail! with a brand new game! The objective of the game is for everyone to work together to name as many DIFFERENT characters from the Kingdom Hearts series as we can! From main characters, to heartless, nobodies, unversed, dream eaters, Disney characters, everyone that has appeared in Kingdom Hearts in some way. (This is excluding certain characters that only appeared on things such as the Chocobo on the Metal Chocobo keyblade, etc.) To keep it fair for everyone, and to make the game last the longest, let's limit it to one character per post. Also, if possible, try to avoid repeating characters, since the goal is to name as many different characters as we can. Let me start it off with our main character... Sora! Rock on!
  4. What time do you need to score to get S rank on Mushroom VI?
  5. Looking at the new box art thread I noticed that the NA and EU ones are pretty much completely different! These games are over a decade old and we're still learning new things about them. EU Box Art: NA Box Art I think I prefer the eerie feeling of the NA one for KH1, but EU KH2 is hands down my fave. Did Australia and Japan have different covers too? Please let me know

  14. Welcome Kingdom Hearts fans, old and new, to the new version of KH13 on the occasion of our 10th anniversary! We are delighted to celebrate a decade of being a hub for the Kingdom Hearts community! Just in time for KH13’s 10th anniversary, we have rolled out the newest update of the website. Version 4 is now more functional and responsive to reflect the needs of our users. The previous version was first released in 2011, and although we had grown to love it, the site had to be rebuilt from the ground up to modernise it and allow us to easily iterate and add new content and features. Look forward to more updates in the future! In the meanwhile, please enjoy the new responsive streamlined design, fully functional mobile site, improved post editor and media submission tools, refreshed video archive and gallery, as well as many other new features scattered around the site. In the past, KH13.com has gone through 4 major redesigns. You can see snapshots of the older versions below and compare it to the current one. Feel old yet? A brief history of KH13 In October 9, 2008, the domain for KH13 was registered; at the time, KH1.com through KH12.com were taken, resulting in the befitting and auspicious claim on the domain “KH13.com”. In October 17, 2008 (October 18 in the webmasters' home country, Australia), the first article was published and KH13 was shared with the world for the very first time, and officially launched! While it all started as a fun project between webmaster DChiuch and Co-Webmaster Aaron, it soon became the full-fledged website for Kingdom Hearts news, media, and discussion that it is today. At the time it was conceived, high quality videos and media were hard to come by, so KH13 initially established itself by providing high quality trailer and cutscene downloads. Now, KH13 is one of the best and well-known Kingdom Hearts fansites for news and media. Within 3 years, KH13 became more well known, paving its future in becoming one of the best and most popular Kingdom Hearts fansites for news and media. In 2011, we started sending representatives to E3 as part of the press. Our first rep was SQEX☆GAL, followed by many others such as Oishii, the Kingdom Hearts community veteran Churro, KH13 PR rep (and former News Team Leader) Toominator and Kingdom Hearts χ Team and News Team member Raxaimus. In the past years, we have established our press presence in many gaming events around the world. Most recently, Toominator and Raxaimus have represented us at the exclusive Kingdom Hearts III Premiere invitational event that took place last May in Santa Monica, California. One important feature that has been prominent throughout KH13 is our gallery and video archives. Former KH13 Archives Team Leader and News Team member Sora96 has brought the video archives and gallery to what it is today, featuring over 29,000 images and hundreds of videos from the Kingdom Hearts series. Thanks also goes to Everglow, our former partner, for recording thousands of cutscenes and playthrough videos for KH13's archives. Our wide selection of videos and images has brought in many visitors for KH13. KH13 today At the present time, KH13 is one of the most essential news outlets on all things Kingdom Hearts, part and parcel of the Kingdom Hearts community. Our news, archives, KHχ and social media team are recognized for their effortful work in delivering the latest information and media to Kingdom Hearts fans and bringing them together to share ideas and resources that embellish the fandom and bring “hype” to the community. The KH13.com community has also been growing on social media. Our Twitter (@KH13.com) has almost 34k followers. Our Facebook page (KH13.com, for Kingdom Hearts) has hit the 25k likes mark. We have a PlayStation community page, and a brand new Discord server! You can follow us on Youtube and Twitch as well. We held many mini #KH13MeetUp’s at various events around North America and UK. Check out the hashtag on Twitter and don’t forget to meet us on the next one! We also released a very entertaining 2017 Re:Cap trailer for Kingdom Hearts news in 2017! A 2018 version is in the works… Reporting Kingdom Hearts news in the past year KH13’s 10th anniversary year has brought forth many exciting developments in Kingdom Hearts! But undoubtedly, the biggest piece of news is that of Kingdom Hearts III’s release date reveal at the Los Angeles Kingdom Hearts Orchestra (Encore) concert. Kingdom Hearts III is coming January 25, 2019 in Japan, and January 29, 2019 to the rest of the world. Recently, Kingdom Hearts III’s box art has also been revealed and has already been branded (anecdotally speaking) as one of the best video games cover! Take a look at it below. Monsters, Inc., Frozen, and Pirates of the Carribean - At World’s End were revealed to have worlds in Kingdom Hearts III! Wreck-It Ralph and Ratatouille will also appear as summon and mini-game respectively. A whopping 9 trailers were revealed in the past year, and along with extra gameplay footage, fans had a lot of information to be excited about, gameplay elements to look forward to, theories to make, and returning characters to welcome back (and at times cry about)! Monsters, Inc. trailer Making of Kingdom Hearts (not released to public) Classic Kingdom trailer Kingdom Hearts Orchetra trailer (not released to public) Frozen trailer Square Enix E3 Showcase 2018 trailer Pirates of the Caribbean trailer “Don’t Think Twice” trailer Extended Aqua cutscene + gameplay (TGS 2018) Toy Box, The Carribean, Arendelle, Olympus, San Fransokyo, Monstropolis, Gummi Ship and Ratatouille (Twilight Town) gameplay (TGS 2018) Toy Box Premiere Exclusive Boss Fight (TGS 2018) Arendelle Trinity Sled Full Sequence (TGS 2018) Big Hero 6 trailer (short) Big Hero 6 Extended trailer A never before seen character appearance is expected to show up in the next trailer... Utada Hikaru’s “Chikai” and “Don’t Think Twice” were revealed as the Japanese and English theme songs for Kingdom Hearts III. (The full version of “Chikai” was released within Utada Hikaru’s new album, Hatsukoi.) “Face My Fears”, a collaboration between Utada and Skrillex, was later revealed to be the opening theme to Kingdom Hearts III. Kingdom Hearts III Deluxe Edition and Deluxe Edition + Bring Arts went on pre-order this year, and a Limited Edition Kingdom Hearts III PlayStation 4 Pro was announced at E3 2018. A Limited Edition Kingdom Hearts III PlayStation 4 Slim was also shown off at TGS 2018. While no new games will be joining the main story before Kingdom Hearts III (Square, please), a free Kingdom Hearts VR Experience was announced for PlayStation VR! Kingdom Hearts’ 15th anniversary was celebrated towards the end of last year. Square Enix Cafe even held an anniversary campaign, where Sora’s birthday was revealed to be March 28, 2002. The Dandelion Meeting for Kingdom Hearts Union x[Cross] then took place in April in Anaheim, California! That was our first experience of trying out Kingdom Hearts III’s LCD-style mini-games, which can now be playing in the mobile game itself! (And while we’re on the topic of firsts…) KH13 staff were amongst the first to get a taste of playing Kingdom Hearts III at its Premiere in Santa Monica, California! Extended demos of Toy Box and Olympus were available at the event; shorter versions of the demo made rounds around the world in various events. (At one of these events, a new area of Olympus within the demo was also accidentally leaked!) Kingdom Hearts fans also contributed greatly to reveals this year. Interesting assets from Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- were discovered. Deleted Monsters, Inc. assets were also found, after all this time, in Kingdom Hearts II! Off-camera secrets of KH2 were also revealed in the Boundary Break series. Furthermore, Everglow started his Kingdom Hearts Timeline series to piece the whole story together in chronological order to prep all fans for the final chapter of the Xehanort saga! This was definitely the year for Kingdom Hearts merch. Square Enix came forth with many wonderful Bring Arts, including Kingdom Hearts III Sora, Riku, and Kairi. Disney even released Kingdom Hearts Tsum Tsums in Japan! Numerous companies like Hot Topic, Spencer’s, Funko, Bandai, Good Smile Company, and FiGPiN licensed a variety of interesting products, including a Keyblade Proplica, Sora and Riku Nendoroids, and KH3 Funko Pops. Kingdom Hearts II: The Novel, Vol. 2, was released in the West, with the 358/2 Days novel releasing next month. Still no word of Kingdom Hearts at Disney Parks (although Shinji Hashimoto is trying to work it out), but Donald Duck and Goofy in their Kingdom Hearts costumes reappeared, at Disneyland, after a long time! In regards to the past and future of Kingdom Hearts: The old storyboards from Kingdom Hearts’s cancelled animated series by Seth Kearsley were also revealed and later auctioned to fans; Walt Disney made a historic deal to acquire 21st Century Fox, meaning even more IPs could possibly join the series; Nomura stated that Kingdom Hearts Union x[Cross]’s story would continue even after Kingdom Hearts III. In conclusion... As we enter our 11th year, we would like to thank our current leaders of our various teams, which includes Aquaberry, WakelessDream, faemarch, Wan_Pisu, and HaakonHawk; our vice leaders Leamax, Yoshirai, Ventus_, AndrewHankinson, and Justin; staff manager HarLea Quinn, and, of course, webmaster DChiuch. We would also like to thank all the current and past members of our various teams for their contributions to the website in the past year. We'd like to also give the most important thanks of all to you, our readers, and the Kingdom Hearts community. Thanks to everyone here on KH13 for sticking with us for these 10 years. We hope to be around for many more, and to continue to provide the latest Kingdom Hearts news and media! View full article

20. In order to complete this challenge, all one has to do is finish KH2 Final Mix.... ....on critical .....on level 1 ......with no abilities, no magic, no items, no equipment, no accessories, no drives/summons/limits or new key blades ....while blindfolded .....while the TV is turned off ......with only one hand ......scratch that, with only your tongue .....while upside down .....while being slowly tortured .....while the controller is 1500F hot .....But every time you take even a little bit of damage you have to start the whole game all over again while the memories your previous playthrough are wiped ......and you have less than 2 hours to complete the game 100%(including Jimminy’s Journal and all Gummi missions) So, anyone up for the challenge?
  21. New assets and files from Kingdom Hearts II have been discovered by 13th Vessel. Some of the assets found include unused textures, maps, and items. Many of the assets have been discovered by others over the years, but something that wasn't revealed was that the Keyblade Graveyard could have been in the regular version of Kingdom Hearts II. A transcript of the post can be viewed below. You can check out the video below! For more videos like this one, check out his Youtube channel. We also have a few articles about the assets in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage- that 13th Vessel had a hand in. You can check them out right here and here. What do you think of his video? Let us know in the comments below!
  22. Hi there! I'm 13th Vessel, some of you may remember me for some stuff that I found in the past, like the weird rooms in KH3D or the Jungle Book colission file that was inside that same game. This time I wanted to do my research with KH2 and surprisingly I found a lot of unused stuff that was hidden inside the game files. This is a dense research that covers almost every file of the game and it's very interesting because it's strongly tied to Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, so please take a look if you like This video took me a lot of hours, not only the research itself but the video editing too (+15 hours doing the research and +20 making the video). Also, while I was doing the research I noticed that some part of the stuff was previously found by other friends of the KH hacking community, but the thing is that most people ignore it, so I added some names in order to let you know if someone found any of these before. I consider this one of my most ambitious works so I hope you enjoy the video! Lots of regards! 13th Vessel~ This post has been promoted to an article
