To be honest with how attacks in rebirth and remake are, none of them are designed for jumping away to dodge

it’d work even better if I couId JUMP an entire way of dodging attacks and counter-attacking is just not in rebirth because of this credit where it’s due, at Ieast it isn’t an active pain to use. It does work

Point is to start adding more to the existing systems intstead of making yet another one that's half assed

Look at how much rebirth improved from remake, and Rev looks to be even better. I haven't played Lightning returns since I was a kid but look at how much 13-2 improved upon the paradigm shift from 13.

I am not saying don't change at all, but stick with something and iterate upon it first before throwing it away

The biggest change before 10 was the introduction of ATB and that took 6 games before it happened. After that it stayed for 4 games. X was the first time where they changed it completely with the CTB style and ever since then each game has done a wildly different thing on their own. XI became an MMO, 12 was the gambit system, 13 was paradigm shift, 14 was another MMO, 15 was action and 16 was character action.

personally I don't think old FF should get compared to the new one at all. all of the old FF's from 3 to 9 were released within 10 years. If we would compare it to the modern games we would have only gotten 2 of them
