Former Sony Exec says that it's too late for the Vita. Well OF COURSE it's too late for the system...and for many reasons mind you. First off Sony never gave it good support nor did any 3rd party devs. Well Sony pretty much advertised it more as an add on to the PS3/PS4 than it being its own handheld console. Which is a shame because I fully agree that the PS Vita is waaaaaaay better than the 3DS as far as hardware goes. I got to try out the PS Vita before and it's tech was amazing and easily blows the 3DS out of the water. So they honestly should have tried harder to make it seem more like its own handheld than some exxtra add-on. Also let's not forget to add the fact that the memory cards for it were insanely expensive. That wasn't a very smart move on their end and only made them look gready (and yeah I know they're a business company but still those prices for memory cards were bad) And there were so few games that were worth buying for the Vita like Gravity Rush, MGS HD Collection, FFX/X-2 HD, Persona 4 Golden, ect. Most of the games in its library were either indie titles or PS1 ports on the PS Store. So yeah I can agree with this statement, the Vita was a good system with a lot of potential but Sony failed to make it appeal to people outside Japan.

Only worse, as it still hasn't sold as many units. It's a shame, too. It had potential to be a great system, but had too much tech and poor marketing from the start. Plus, Sony needs to stop making their own exclusive storage for their systems and stick with SD.

Well at least the Wii U got some public attention in places like E3

The Vita on the other hand,Sony has completely and utterly neglected it and if it wasn't for 3rd parties and small devs they might've pulled it off shelves of global markets years ago

I really love my Vita and it's a shame Sony didn't show it any amount of marketing or much care towards the little gym

Ughh firetruck the pricing for the memory sticks btw they're way too freakin expensive

I'll agree this much, Sony did a poor job marketing it. Nintendo may have done a few questionable things in the past, but they always knew how to market their systems at least (well, aside from the Wii U). The 3DS's capabilities aren't as strong as the Vita's, but they sure did market the thing a whole lot better. Hell, I would have been fine if KH3D was on the Vita instead of the 3DS, but of course only a few notable first or third party companies even produced anything for it. Nothing huge really came around that often to draw in more consumers, other than the occasional re-release in HD like Sly Cooper or Final Fantasy X. I have a PS Vita and I love it dearly, but I literally only have one game for the dang thing, Uncharted Golden Abyss, and a download of Metal Gear Solid. Nothing else that I actively followed came out for it, no Kingdom Hearts, no Sonic the Hedgehog, pretty much nothing worth mentioning that I was hoping to see on it. At this point, I feel like they would be better off just succeeding the Vita with a new handheld system that's got even better specs and features and do a hell of a lot better job of marketing and developing for the thing. Treat it as well as Nintendo does the 3DS, give it more games from first, third, and indi developers, don't just make it a glorified add-on to your super-console. You have to push whatever you're marketing so that we have more incentive to buy it from you. I love Playstation and I still want to enjoy it on the go, so please Sony, make a newer better system and actually give it the love and attention it deserves.

No love for uni. I like the vita thou i recently got all the Neptunia games on there. Thats a good time right there. While I agree with whats been said I fin some of my favorite games are on the vita.  FFX, persona 4 golden, (almost) all of Neptunia, soul sacrifice, freedom wars. Etc.

Uni is love, uni is life.

It's a shame that the Vita failed, because it showed promise!  The PSP managed to sell well, but the Vita didn't reach the PSP's success, ya know?  Had the Vita had proper marketing, it could've been a healthy competitor against the 3DS!  Well, hopefully this means that if Sony decides to try their hand at another handheld console in the future, they can make it something great and learn from their mistakes, ya know?

But yeah, I feel bad the Vita didn't succeed! :(

The PS Vita is a system that's surviving through third party support.

The Nintendo Wii U is a system that's surviving through first party support.

And that's the biggest kicker. Maybe E3 has a heavy bias towards home consoles because it's a western event, however, facts are facts. When's the last time PS Vita was at E3?
