ERSB Rating

SPOILERS

FFXV has been rated Teen by the ERSB. This is for mild blood, partial nudity and violence. This full  passage up next contains some spoilers, I've highlighted the controversial parts.

This is an action role-playing game (RPG) in which players control a prince and his friends as they attempt to save a kingdom from evil forces. From a third-person perspective, players move around battlefields and city environments, perform various quests, and battle an assortment of human and fantastical enemies (e.g., demons, titans). Characters use swords, guns, and magic attacks (e.g., exploding fireballs, blasts of ice) to defeat soldiers and oversized animals in frenetic combat. Fights are highlighted by cries of pain, dramatic light effects, and realistic gunfire. A handful of cutscenes depict characters impaled on swords; one cutscene involves a woman being stabbed off-screen; another scene depicts a character with a bloodstained wound. During the course of the game, some female characters are depicted topless, with breasts that lack discernible details (i.e., no nipples). The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.

Development Update

Starting from today or yesterday (doesn't matter does it?), the game is content locked. Thus, no changes shall be made unless they discover something huge that could ruin the game. It's over guys, Final Fantasy XV is now being certified. To my knowledge this means that the game is being tested to ensure it meets certain standards.

Tabata showed off a few new screenshots, FNC also reports that 'the team has worked hard to ensure most areas run at a stable 30fps.' This was an issue in both demos for a lot of people.

Lastly, I know I'm late on this one :( But Playstation Access have blessed us with 27 minutes of new footage

And here I am wondering why the hell they put god in fire and Cantata Mortis both separated and in the same track, although that might be a mistake.

As for the soundtrack itself...there is no Golbez, Clad in Darkness nor Kain's theme:/

Square Y U no love FFIV

And neither Dark Messenger for FFIX. That's the freaking final boss music.

Oh well, another reason to be happy I am not the one who is paying for the game lol

I'm just glad they included some of my favorite tracks from Final Fantasy X. I am so going to blast A Fleeting Dream and Spira Unplugged xD

I was disappointed that To Zanarkand wasn't on there :(. It's a fan favourite! xD

Ah same! I was actually more surprised it was excluded than disappointed, but I guess the closest we get to that is Movement in Green.

Isn't it crazy...ten years in the making or 3 whatever...and the game is finally finished! Exciting stuff! Kinda ironic how they finished the game on the day it was supposed to be released lol ^^ Oh and the visuals *.* The game looks really good. Such a huge improvement from the master version!

And that ESRB rating...smh...

I just know Luna's gonna die T.T Don't do it Square.

I was at least hoping that in honor of being siblings, they might have put a Kingdom Hearts 3 track in there, but since no soundtrack has been announced yet anyway, I guess it makes sense that it isn't mentioned. Plus, if those other games might one day get music in there, then maybe KH3 will get some after release. It'd just be a nice little shout out, considering how much these two games fed into each other over the years. I'm also hoping for some Dissidia music.

Anyway, it's good to know that they have all the content in there they planned on working on, but I do hope they still consider adding in a few extra small things the next few months after release. And I mean, it's their hugest game, I'd actually be surprised that Square wouldn't try to milk as much extra money out of DLC from this thing as possible.

(Red part) Why would they put a KH song in a Final Fantasy game? They aren't the same franchise.

Sonic is right Shun, both songs are the same

Yay Calling for Rain is here! I love that song from Kingsglaive. It didn't get much love in the movie at all

Hooray lil, you can now listen to that song infinite times.

So sad Tidus laugh remix didn't get included.

I already listen to it on youtube all the time 0.0 but now i can listen to it while driving. Tidus laugh mix will forever be in our hearts. Now if only we could import our own tracks, there could even a in game reason, you could buy a blank CD and load songs onto it to listen in the car

Tabata is a man of the people, I honestly think if you set up a petition, created a hashtag and tweeted the XV accounts enough, you could get that remix in the game.

Sonic is right Shun, both songs are the same

Well, that's weird.

I thought that the theme that is name after a last-second villain's would be...well, the theme for the last-second villain.

That does made sense however, Dark Messenger is kinda the One Winged Angel and Dancing Mad of FF9.

Still no Goblez nor Kain's themes though :(

Um, because both are made by the same company, both XV and KH were created by the same guy, and Yoko Shimmomura has done music for both? I'm pretty sure those are fair enough grounds for at least one track to be put in there as a shout out. It's not like I'm asking for a character skin or something, it's not that unheard of.

I don't really understand that line of thinking. Nomura is no longer the director of XV and hasn't been for 2 years. It's not Yoko's decision to put certain songs in the game, she makes the music, that's it.

Both are made by the same company-that doesn't mean Dragon Quest music will be in the game. Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are two completely different franchises.

The car radio soundtrack is meant for Final Fantasy games. Kingdom Hearts is it's own entity.

The fact remains that there are a lot of ties between the two projects, and they're both Sqaure's big releases of the decade (not to mention one of them does a fair bit of referencing the other in various ways). I fail to see how their separate existences as franchises should prevent at least one little reference like that to ever happen. My line of thinking is that it allows the very same chance for it to actually happen. "Why wouldn't they?" Because they can choose not to. "Why would they?" Because they can choose to do so. There's just as many reasons to do that kind of thing as there would be to not do it. I'm not saying that they are going to do it, but the odds between them either deciding to do that or deciding not to seem very even to me right now. And again, it'd be a very minimal effort too, just putting one track in.
