Alright, so the KH3 'announcements' have been delayed lmao until after 2.8 releases. The article on the front page of this site says exactly this

 

Tetsuya Nomura has also confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III news will be released after the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

 

Let's clarify some things

 

I doubt they will give us news out of the blue or drop a random trailer unannounced, they have never done that for any KH or FF game as far as I'm aware and I don't think they will ever do that. The 2 2.8 trailers were prior to TGS and E3, so that doesn't count as dropping a random trailer unannounced. What I mean is, they won't just drop a random trailer on March 6th or on April 9th say 'A new trailer is coming out next week!'.

 

He said it's after 2.8, but he didn't specify if it was the Western release or the Japanese release. If my first point is true, then that doesn't matter anyway but I'm just putting that out there.

 

He did not say February as far as we know, he just said after 2.8, so I wouldn't get your hopes up so high for a trailer anytime before E3.

E3 2017 seems the most likely, but the series 15th anniversary is in March-so we may get something then which would make sense.

 

Anyhow, it could also show up at these 2 events but I wouldn't bank on it.

Id like to think instaed of special credits in 2.8 like in 1.5 and 2.5 itll be a new story trailer? I mean they cant exactly show off various KH3 cutscenes of the game from start to end like in 1.5 and 2.5

I think that statement was only made so people don't expect any news this year. I mean it says at the end of the E3 trailer "KH3 news in Winter", I doubt they will get delayed for so long

Wouldn't March make more sense than February since it is the 15th anniversary of the franchise? I'd say March is likely and E3 2017 is also likely.

Well the first half of March is still Winter so it would work

Also why does everyone presume trailers must come out at a convention I know it makes more sense as it draws people in faster but at the same time this isn't an announcement trailer or teaser.

It's just a trailer for KH3 prolly to give us either a 2018 bookmark or late 2017 bookmark

I expect it will be a week or two after 2.8 March is my safest bet.

 

Well KH1 was released on March 28, 2002 in Japan so I'm going with that.

Most likely it will be the past KH3 trailers.

At least Autumn/Winter 2017.

We are getting news in winter so the second event listed, PAX South would probably be it. If not, then it would be in February.

Nomura wants the focus to be on 2.8 and whatever they are going to share could be spoilers for 2.8, so they probably want everyone to have a chance to complete 2.8 before they release anything.

Why are people so negative... I remember never expecting KH3, and out of the blue, a trailer came out at E3 2013 for it. Maybe Nomura is doing the same thing this time to surprise us. I just ask everyone to not let their guards down, as Nomura is the master of trolls at Square Enix (along with Hashimoto of course). He said he wouldn't make any Kingdom Hearts games after KH3D before releasing KH3, but now we have ReMIXes, X, Unchained X and 2.8 lol
