[UPDATED] Nintendo Switch revealed: Square Enix present on list of third-party partners, Unreal Engine 4 support confirmed

Posted

Nintendo recently released

for their new console, the Switch. While there was no footage of Kingdom Hearts III or Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue within the teaser, Nintendo has released a graphic showcasing many of the console's third-party partners, where Square Enix can be seen. Additionally, as shown in the teaser, Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was showcased extensively, so Nintendo seems to be embracing third-party developers much more than in previous console generations.

Update: Epic Games, one of the partners for the Switch, has confirmed that Nintendo's newest console will have Unreal Engine 4 support. This is the same engine used for Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage-, and the engine that Kingdom Hearts III is being developed with.

The Switch is basically confirmed BC by the trailer. Literally all of the games currently on Wii U are seen on it, including Breath of the Wild, Splatoon and the like. What's more, it doesn't look at all like an upgrade to graphics-it's definitely Wii U caliber games in their original form,

I dunno about all games being cartridge though... I doubt Nintendo would make so many of those Wii U games for cartridge. I speculate there's a disc reader even in the tablet form'

Backwards Compatibility was actually confirmed to not be a feature on the Switch, at least in physical format. Here's the source.

I'm not planning on getting rid of my Wii U so this doesn't really bother me, it sucks for people that didn't get a Wii U and won't be able to play any of its games though.

Honestly this got me into a pinch on choosing between PS4 and Switch because now the NS has UE4 Support and that's the same Graphics Engine KH3 uses so I seriously need to know if they are gonna be releasing KH3 for the NS @_@;;;

I would like to get it, but it seems like I won't be able to get it, at least not on its launch date

Sega and Spike chunsoft. Project Diva and Dangan dingleropes confirmed ww

Yes.

Now, both Xbox and Nintendo fans are getting to feel the heartwarming pain of our majestic Kingdom Hearts :)

developers/producers when they come up with other new projects, so never say never.
