If I'm talking like an idiot again, I apologize.

According to Xehanort at the end of Dream Drop Distance (I'm not believing a single word he says because he lies like a crusty old rug but we don't really have much of a choice at the moment), the original X-Blade was shattered by some unknown means into seven fragments of pure Light and thirteen fragments of pure Darkness and he plans to recreate it with the same method.

Question 1A) If, according to Xehanort, the thirteen fragments of Darkness were lost in the Realm Of Darkness for eons, how does using thirteen new Darknesses equate to the same thing? Wouldn't that mean he's creating another fake like he did before?

Question 1B) If the seven fragments of Light became the Hearts of the seven Princesses, would that mean the thirteen Darknesses became Hearts of pure Darkness as well? And if so, does that mean the reforging of the the X-Blade will cause the hearts of the heroes and the Seekers to erupt from their chests, join together, and coalesce into the X-Blade, including Xehanort's? How does he expect to wield it it if he more or less dies in the process of its making?

Question 2) Let's say Xehanort wins and he get the X-Blade and then proceeds to kick off Keyblade War II, how does he expect that to happen if by that point he's the only Keyblade wielder left? Not really much of a war if it's just one person. Are all the Keyblades in the Keyblade Graveyard suddenly going to fly into the sky, travel to all the worlds, land in people's hands and send them into a universe ending berserker rage?

1) I'm pretty certain that Xehanort is trying to create another fake, as far as I know no one knows what's up with the original 13 darknesses (My bet is that they will be the villains of he inevitable continuation of KH)

2) Good point, no idea how this works but it worked for Vanitas so it'll probably just end with the x-blade in his hands.

3) Ok this one I can answer with some level of certainty, thanks to the Xehanort reports. See Xehanorts goal isn't actually the keyblade war itself it's what lies beyond it, Kingdom Hearts. What then?

Well according to the Xehanort reports:

"And when Kingdom Hearts is complete, it is said the one who opens its door will bring about the creation of the Next World. Such a feat is above any human. Or, to put it a different way: whoever opens that door will be reborn as something far greater than human."

"If I become the first to open Kingdom Hearts' door, I can create the Next World in which light and darkness exist in perfect equilibrium."

chances are the X-Blade will be formed by a big flash of light, like what happened in BBS. i doubt there's any point in trying to understand the science behind a magic weapon that only forms when 13 people of evil fight 7 people of good.

so i doubt anyone is going to have their heart yanked out. although if all of their hearts are tied to the X-Blade, similar to what happened with Ven in BBS, will they be able to destroy it if it forms? should they even fight at all? what constitutes a fight? what if Sora goes after Xehanort while everyone else just dodge rolls around and kills time, not technically fighting. Kill Xehanort and the whole 13 vs 7 fight gets thrown off by a number, thus ruining the plan.

what if mickey casts Stopza on a Darkness and they clobber the hell out of him and, again, take away one member of the 13 Darknesses? do they have to fight at the exact same time? that's going to be hard to pull off when the Lights are outnumbered. are 6 of those Darknesses understudies in case someone dies to a cheap "friendship is magic" attack?

and yea, just how IS this keyblade war going to go? are all these no name keyblade wielders going to pop out of nowhere like "Yo I felt a disturbance in the force darkness. what's going on?" or will the ghosts of past keyblade wielders return the the keyblade graveyard and fight for some reason. will there even be a war? the first war was fought over Kingdom Hearts. i'm pretty sure the Lights don't want KH this time, they just want to stop Xehanort.

bottom line, there's a lot about KH3's story that doesn't make sense. i'll be genuinely surprised if i finish the game thinking "wow they handled all these plot threads really well."

Man these are some good questions! I want to know these things too. The Keyblade War itself is a big mystery; it's still not clear how the war lead to the forging of the X-blade. We've only ever seen it in BBS when Ventus and Vanitas merged together. Master Xehanort says that the X-blade was forged during the war, yet in Unchained X, we don't see the X-blade at all, nor was there any mention of it in the game (not that I could remember). It's all just really confusing because the games try to explain it in such a vague and roundabout way.  :P

So according to that last statement, Xehanort's goal is to create a world where the balance of light and darkness are equal? That doesn't make him seem like much of a villain anymore lol

True but chances are he's gonna start by destroying the current world and everything in it

Got me wondering though, who opened Kingdom hearts and split up the worlds the first time? Luxu? Master of masters? The traitor? Maybe even Ava in a final attempt to separate the unions and stop the fighting.
