10 Misleading Video Game Demos That Totally Lied To You

Featured Replies

I don't like how this guy attacked Unleashed and MGS2, I love both of those games. xP

I agree. With Sonic he just echoes the same opinions everyone had in 2008, and says that it was misleading for a crappy reason, even though the trailers clearly showed that the game had more than just daytime stages.

Then the MGS2 segment is just mindless Raiden hate, even though most people got over him and now consider Raiden a good character.

But really, this video was just a lot of parroting and stuff we already knew.

If anything was misleading with a video game, it was this (Pokemon Spoiler below!)

This trailer clearly showed Crabrawler knocking out VGC champion Pokemon, even though in the final product this are its stats: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/crabrawler-crabominable-discussion.3586437/

Clearly, it would have to evolve before it would have its chance to knock out these Pokemon, which it does evolve, and even still then it clearly doesn't have the best stats in the world. Like seriously that trailer above is totally staged to make you get excited that a new crab Pokemon could defeated these champion Pokemon, only for you to get the game and realize, that this Pokemon is not as powerful as it was previously made out to be. This right here is totally misleading more than half the things shown in this video.

They saved the best for last. xD

You know, I'm disliking the hate for Sonic Unleashed.

The game combined two of Sonic's most iconic recurrences in every game; platforming and speed. It wasn't. That. Bad. In fact I highly enjoyed the leveling system and combo stuff.

Sonic Unleashed has been advertised to have an action-fighting style since it was revealed. And this isn't even the first time (Remember that crappy Sonic the Fighters game nobody talks about? No? That happened. Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood? Mmmmmm. I bet you know this one: Sonic Battle. Yes, Sonic was in a highly enjoyable FFA fighting game). It's not like they robbed you. People vastly just enjoy the day stages more than night. I did. But it was new, it was fresh, and it definitely wasn't something kept under wraps like this guy said.

I can understand if you loathe the night stages, and yes it is a big part, and yes it is forced, but is the game really that crap with all the story, graphics, and day stages? And do you REALLY think you've been robbed? Because I remember the demo explicitly talking about playing day AND night stages at the end. Hell, you see the werehog in the opening scene of the game.
