He needs to get rid of it now! If the theory that Xehanort has a Book Of Prophecies is correct, then that's how he always knows what the heroes are planning, because Riku's Keyblade has the future seeing eye on it. Even back when he just had the Soul Eater, he's been an unwitting mole for the Seekers this whole time.

I don't think that eye is the real one . It's decorative and I'm pretty sure Nomura hadn't thought about the whole MoM plan/story when he introduced Riku's keyblade in the game .

What if the eye on Riku's way to dawn is just a decorative eye?

The eye on Master Xehanort's Keyblade looked more 'magical'.

Maybe it isn't an actual eye and maybe Nomura didn't have this all planned out from the beginning. but this wouldn't be the first time he's repurposed an old concept in this franchise.

I don't think that's how it works, you can't just get rid of it.

Or what if they're pulling a 'Bayonetta' scenario where there are 2 eyes of the divine one, The Right eye kept by the Lumen Sages (Light) and the left eye kept by the Umbra Witches (Darkness)

I think that that eye was how Ansem the Seeker of Darkness was following Riku. Maybe Ansem wasn't in his heart. Maybe Ansem was just stalking Riku.

You think Riku knows about the eye of the MoM? Yeah right. He won't ever get rid of that. It could have been decoration for all we know. Otherwise, he won't lose his Way to Dawn.

That's just it, nobody knows. Not Riku, not Yen Sid, not even Xehanort knows where the eye comes from, but Xehanort does know that it just so happens to connect to a very peculiar book that just so happens to know the future. This whole time, from the moment Riku received his Soul Eater, he's been unknowingly supplying intel to the enemy.

Maybe. Maybe not. We can't assume anything.

I was just wondering what you guys think about Riku's Keyblade having the eye in it as well? Do you think that will come into play in KH 3?

I think that's a design thing, just like his Soul Eater Sword. I don't think it will come into play in KH3.

I believe the "Eye" only refers to the Keyblade that the Master of Master gave to Luxu.

No but we sure as hell can speculate and the evidence is right there. We just thought it was a design choice but that eye has been at every major event and Xehanort just happens to know where and how everything is going to be?

I don't know about evidence, but seeing as how Xehanort took over Riku could have spread the influence of Master Xehanort's keyblade and now the MoM has seen what Sora and company has been able to do. Maybe that is how Xehanort has managed to keep one step ahead of them in HD3D and set up the Mark of Mastery exam for his purposes.

Exactly, and as of the end of 0.2, he now knows that Riku and Mickey will be looking for Aqua, that Sora will be away training, and where Kairi will be which means she'll be right where he wants her.

Um, it could just be that only the eye on Master Xehanort's Keyblade (No Name? Gazing Eye? Seriously I want a name damnit!) is the all-seeing eye. Every other blade with it might just be decorational or by association only. But at the same time, I could see them pulling that one off.
