Critical Mode trophy and platinum trophy BBS

Posted

Hello just need a bit of help. I already beat terra in critical mode. I'm playing as ventus, and will need help facing X-Blade vanitas on 1 life left(when vanitas becomes a d-link). But I really need help on is aqua. She has terranort, and pureblood heartless. In fact, I made need help in general because I died a lot with aqua in proud mode. So any advice for critical mode aqua and ventus would be nice.

On PSP and PS3, I found the beginning of BBS really hard! My advice would be:

>Stick to the basic commands (firaga, sliding dash, Aqua's mines...), they are more "secure" to hit and you recover quickly after using them. Advanced attacks like ars arcanum or Aqua's advanced magic can take too long to be cast and most of the bosses can either block/dodge or attack you during the casting.

>Meld Second Chance as soon as you can!

>Take your time! BBS is totally different from KH2, which you could hit everyone without being afraid. Abuse of blocking and its counterattack (also, meld the renewing block asap). And fight crowds of unversed through the sides, jumping right in the middle can be risk...

But definitely, dodge/defend/counter are your best friends in BBS.

Abilities are really really good in the game so the earlier you want to grind them out the better. At the very least make sure you have all of the HP Boost abilities and the Attack and Magic Hastes. Along with that, getting Once More and Second Chance. I also had all Fire Boosts since I used mostly fire magic.

To beat X-Blade vanitas, I always used my shotlock on him and then it puts you where you have to spin the stick and thats self explanatory.

For Terranort I used all Fire Surge and 2 Curagas and just dodged then used a surge when I could.

For the pureblood heartless I had all Firagas and 3 Curagas to stay alive. Just dodge around again and use Firagas when he isn't attacking you

There are probably easier guides on Youtube as well if none of these work.

If you have any of the "element" dodge commands (Fire Cartwheel, Thunder Roll, whatever) equip the standard version instead. The regular versions have invincibility frames that the damage ones don't.

Good luck with the Vanitas one though. It's best to find one particular move that triggers the thumbstick spin and just do that over and over again. I always have a hard time with that one too =P.

For Vanitas just keep on trying to hit him with the Dark Link Shotlock, and pray he doesn't get use Dark Splicer lol

For Aqua, have Cartwheel at max level, have Second Chance, Once More, as many Magic Hastes as you can, Leaf Bracer, HP Boosts, and Reload Boost (melding guides are a lifesaver)

Having a good finisher helps too. Heal Strike is particularly nice, and it's not too hard to get either; you can just die to Vitality Vial a few times.

Renewal Block is good to have too.

For commands, you want Thunder/Fire Surges, Curagas, Mines of some sort (Seeker Mine is pretty dang broken), and Ignites (idk how well they work on Terranort but they work on Dark Hide at LV1, so those should be good on anything higher than that lol)

For fighting against Vanitas, I went with using the Thundershock Shotlock and Mine Square, as that helped to take significant chunks of his life bars away! After that, the key to dominating Vanitas when he becomes your D-Link is to time your attacks perfectly to when he attacks, so that you can do the stalemate and beat him back. After you fill up the bar, perform Last Word, and voila, Vanitas defeated!

As for Aqua, it's really just a matter of using your skills as best as you can! Thunder Surge is good as well as the Mine spells, combined with a bit of Shotlocks and command finishers too, as those give you a small window of invincibility, ya know? In general, just keep an eye on Terranort's movements, and that should help!

I hope this helped! :)

Spam Fire Surges with Aqua because Ghost Drive sucks and causes you to lose invincibility frames during cartwheels.
