What was Braig getting out of it? *spoilers*

**If you haven't beaten bbs yet, this contains spoilers.**

I was watching some BBS cutscenes and I realised there was something that's not very clear. Why exactly was Braig helping Master Xehanort? I know he needed Braig to help make Terra succumb to darkness and to hold off Aqua at the keyblade graveyard, but what was Braig getting out it? He even helped apprentice Xehanort at the end and Xigbar always seemed pretty loyal to Xemnas, so he must have had some kind of reason, right?

If I remember correctly, Braig hopped that Master Xehanort would give him the power to wield the Keyblade.

Well, Braig's dialogue in Terra's scenario seemed to imply he wanted a Keyblade, but after the battle, it seems like that was just a cover story for his true intentions. Who knows? Maybe he wanted to create a new world in his image as well, or see the outcomes of the Keyblade War? -shruggs-

Yeah, I thought it sounded like a cover story, but when he taunts Sora and stuff, he still seems kinda interested in keyblades, so maybe that's really it. I always just figured he agreed with MX's plan, but looking back at it, it didn't seem that clear. I'm just curious about what other people have to say about it.

Well if MX controlled the worlds with KingdomHearts, Braig would be safe.

Braig tells Xehanort to 'hold up his end of the bargain'

It's never explained, but my best bet is he wanted the power of Darkness (His eyes change colour the next time you meet him)

I wonder why MX would randomly pick Braig though.

That makes sense, but you would think Braig could get the power of darkness on his own. It seems like it's easier to give in to darkness than it is to resist it.

I think it was probably a mixture of wanting the powers of the Keyblade and Darkness. The part at the end where he says "I keep forgetting not to mess with Keyblade wielders" sort of seems to me like he knew he wasn't that powerful yet. Obviously, at that time, he had obtained the power of Darkness, but still had yet to obtain a Keyblade.

Whatever the reason, it must have been something that Braig/Xigbar really wanted or needed in some way shape or form if he is willing to go through a great deal of trouble for. Not many are willing to lose an eye, let along receive being injured, for just about anything. I'm sure that it will eventually be revealed in KH3. Maybe Braig/Xigbar will receive a keyblade for a possible keyblade ware, since that's what MX had been trying to recreate. Only time, and Nomura, will tell.
