Question Regarding Final Fantasy XV

Recommended Posts

After chapter 8 you can't go back until chapter 15 when you can call Umbra for returning to the past.

That's actually not true. You can head back into the open world at anytime when you first meet up with Umbra in chapter 9.

Yes, quests are optional. In fact, most of the content is pretty much optional if you just want to go with the story. However, since the story is only about 20 hours worth of content, with very little going on, the major content is actually the quests.

I have checked google they are saying through chapter 13.

I've played and I can safely say, that's not the case.

Any time you are given the option to summon Umbra starting in Chapter 9, you will be given the option to go back to Lucis at any time you want. Chapter 10 through 12 don't give much options for it, but there is still the fact that you are not forced to wait till Chapter 15 as you initially told the the topic starter. That was blatant incorrect information and one that needed to be corrected.

Little advice for FFXV. Take your time with the game if you really want to enjoy its story. If you rush your experience, you probably won't like it. Sadly, with FFXV you need to look for story elements to have a good understanding of the plot. That means that, you should:

-Watch the Brotherhood anime and the Kingsglaive movie

-Listen to the radio in the game when you have the chance to (the radio gives A LOT of context to the story and reveals quite a lot of interesting story elements)

-Listen to your party's banter for interesting story content from time to time

-Read the various documents you come across (The Cosmogony books and some documents in Chapter 13 and Chapter 14)

-Play the DLC (they say it's bonus content, but it feels more like missing content to be honest)

It's a lot, but sadly, FFXV is a fragmented experience so if you want the complete XV experience you need to put the pieces together. It's still enjoyable by itself, but not as much imo. Enjoy the game :)
