In both numbered titles in the series there has been a "Dark" version of Sora..in KH 1 it was a replica that Riku/Ansem summoned and in KH 2 it was Anti Form. While these were not necessarily plot centric, I don't think it was coincidence that Sora has these forms. Perhaps Nomura has been hinting at the darkness in Sora's heart all this time. That being said I feel like there is a strong possibility that a "Dark" form of Sora will be in KH 3. With The True Organization 13 confronting Sora and tempting him to embrace the Darkness,this honestly seems more than likely. Please let me know what you think!

Maybe Sora will finally end up as a member of the true Thirteenth Order.

Im Very sure that these dark soras are plot relevant nothing in kingdom hearts happens just like that. If you remember soras ability to have more than one keyblade makes sense since he is technically more than one Person. I think you are correct those dark forms are a hint that there is a darkness in him that has always been there a fear of losing or something that he never truly adressed. It would be an interesting development to see sora suncome to darkness just for a little while atleast

Well, considering that Dream Drop Distance had Sora falling to darkness, it's not an understatement to say that he has the potential for darkness within him. Even with the most kindest of hearts, darkness always lurks, and even though Sora is as kind as they come, even he has his inner demons. Re: Coded actually had a manifestation of Sora, his "Heartless" from the data in Jiminy's Journal that tried to take over the Datascape so that he could then influence his darkness on the outside world! That, and the fact that Sora's darkness has been hinted at before indicates that he could have some sort of arc regarding that! And with Riku having conquered the darkness, he could have some help from him along the way!
