Yeah, I understand places like RG and the extended portion of Twilight Town being left out, but can't we at least explore the places we actually go to, like the mansion?

Well, let's see

KH3 had Twilight Town... well, one fourth of it, at least. And it loses all relevance to the plot after we leave the world.

Then there's Keyblade Graveyard, which is barely explorable and is more of a boss gauntlet.

Then there's Final World... where there's nothing to do, really, although that's understandable since it's purely story focused.

Then there's Scala... it's pretty, for the 5 seconds you can focus on it without triggering the final boss.

Scala is a great final battle location, it just loses a bit of its impact for not being explorable and imo not very well explained.

According to old man Xehanort it was the place where Keyblade Wielders that planned on taking the mark of mastery trained

Also if I'm not mistaken the Scala we do go to is not the real deal but inside Xehanort's head.

And it's apparently related to Daybreak Town in some way
