After going into the world of Tales and other various RPGs like The Alliance Alive and Radiant Historia and others
JRPG plots are handcrafted worlds that each have their own elements that resonate with the player.
Some people love the interconnecting lore between games and secret reports or hidden secrets in the visuals in game
Some love how a series has its own contained lore per game

KH kinda does a fun mix of the two along with providing a pretty great gameplay experience for players of all levels

So that's why i say KH3 is a one of a kind game, it does something for all sorts of fans, but also that it's one of a kind because we cant forget that it's a JRPG, it's gonna have a plot fetish

and again, we need to let it age and come back to KH3 once everything settles down in the distant future when we dont have plot DLC coming out

For a game that supposedly had a "plot fetish", it sure doesn't have that much of one

We're missing the vital piece of storytelling that will mostly focus on setting up future events and then give us some explanations on the side, as if throwing a bone to the pleading dogs

Can't wait for an """explanation""" for how Xion returned, even if knowing the actual logistics of how it happened will not really improve the storytelling in that scene because the problem is the scene as a whole rather than the specifics of the way of how her heart returned to Sora

Well, I don't know about if he's out of touch or not, and that's because we don't really know how much of KH3 was truly his vision or how much e was forced to compromise on

Also, regarding the Aqua scene, Connah, think about it this way

If you were in Nomura's place and you showed a new trailer about your Disney x FF crossover game (which didn't end up being exactly that but whatever) in a public conference, what do you think the public at large would be more interested in:

The biggest Disney movie of the 2010s getting included in the game, elevating it to the level of a major Disney game with the most popular and well protected IPs of the company

OR

An anime girl that only appeared in spin-offs and one tech demo edgily and cringingly saying "You're too late" to Mickey freaking Mouse

If anything, you could say that Nomura was surprised at how many people took notice of the plot of the sin-offs. One could suppose he'd expect everyone to catch up when the Memory Archive stuff was released, but enough people were aware of Aqua and the significance of yellow eyes + silver hair to come to the conclusion that she was norted

Which she technically wasn't, but, y'know

He’s been aware for years that not enough people has played those side games

And that they’re all over the place, something he’s also realized currently

Which is why he got surprised that "Aqua got norted!" seemed to have caused more surprise among the wider community than Frozen being included

I don't know, saying he's "out of touch" seems a bit mean

Also, I actually wasn't arguing that Nomura was not out of touch in that situation, it was more regarding the general statement regarding the game as a whole

And the Xion explanation stuff

In short, he may have been out of touch regarding that situation, but I can perfectly see how he'd come to that conclusion
