Well had

Well in that world I'm assuming that the trailers for KH3 stayed the same, so I would have gone into the game not knowing they were in, and that would have been a pleasant surprise

Hmmm

But overall if nothing else about KH3 changed, my reaction would probably be the same

The thing is, in my view having FF characters there means KH3 would be changed a lot fundamentally

It would still be an improvement from previous games that didn't have them

Whereas the main characters have less is a downgrade

Also that

We haven't seen them since recoded

The thing is, they never had character arcs like Riku's or Aqua's, except for Leon's "I need to earn the right to be called Squall" and Cloud's "darkness brood darkness emo darkness goth darkn- SEPHIROTH"

See, I don't really think the FF character being there would have changed a lot. I genuinely think the game would be more or less the exact same except for a scene or two more doing stuff with the FF cast.

Would them being there mean Radiant Garden would be playable or is it just a cutscene?

?

This is a very interesting discussion btw

I'm glad we're having it

sorasmile

Yeah people expect less out of them than main characters. KH1 kinda sets this precedent where they are already established and are like a constant compared to the main characters which are going through arcs

I think it's harder to "get them wrong" tbh

Yeah, apart from cloud and Leon, the rest of them are adults and have established personalities from their own games

? Although a lot of people dislike cloud because he's so emo

But I personally don't mind, because again, they are KH OCs now

Leon to squall may as well be yozora to noctis xionsmug

I suppose the good thing about ff characters being so low on Nomura's list is that Tifa is still a character instead of "clouds light"

-.-

in my head, I still don't believe that's a thing even if they were there. It would mostly just be a scene or two extra there

Ah right

In that case I think the fandom may have a meltdown

Sorry for responding so late, I am in a few calls so got stuff to do

Oh no, don't be sorry for having a life

seasalt_shinji

I'm just killing time until I go to uni

But yeah, I think if radiant garden is still unplayable people will still be upset

Probably, I don't think it will bother me as much tho

Because, its also about framing it with the rest of the game

I am betting 100 imaginary bucks that people are still gonna be salty about ReMind because RG isn't playable and that the FF cast were barely there

Oh yeah, for sure

Because again, it's a downgrade from the previous

If RG wasn't playable but we got 3 full original worlds, it wouldn't sting as much

But we didn't get that

It exacerbates the problem
