I've played sonic adventure and KH2 most recently

Wall running and auto-platforming are the enemy of exploration

I definitely prefer SA

Wall running isnt bad in of itself but it's used waaay too much

It should be specific instances imo

Yeah, I'm not like a nut for level design or anything, but I definitely prefer the sense of exploration older games give you of "if you can see it, you can reach it"

Look at twilight town, you can reach the top by running up any surface, whereas in Kh2 TT, you gotta actually platform your way up

Also if you run up you hit an incredibly low ceiling

A lot of my gameplay you can see me trying to land on something that can't haha

We have never had a place where the main character has been seen in a cutscene that wasn't explorable except cgi

Now we have a ton

Oh and the throne room in Days and DDD I guess

And Disney Castle in 1

Say what one will about land of departure but at least there isn't anything there that I can't explore
