Like perception is "Oh it's a kids disney anime game"

Which, yeah it is

But, also a lot more

Right.. there's this whole mentality of "Animation/cartoons are for children"

I mean there for sure are dumb things about the series, but thats what makes it fun

people who say that play mario tho

Yeah,but they don't realize they're a hypocrite,lol..

Most games can be kids games tbh

A few exceptions

It's kinda like Aquaman and Spider-verse coming out around the same time

Critics called both amazing

But you know what most general audiences would say about the latter?

"Oh,but.. it's just a cartoon?Why is it so great?"

Hmm

And! That reminds me of why.. what's it called.. Emmy?The reward? It was that or something else..

Beauty and the beast,apparnetly they didn't "Feel very good" about rewarding that movie something so highly

I mean the stigma that cartoons are for kids came from the crappy 70 and 80s cartoons that were made only for the child demographic

So a whole other rewarding thing was made

Just because they didn't want to give Beauty and the beast such a direct,mainstream win

before then you had stuff like bugs bunny, the disney goofy cartoons, betty boop, and other cartoons orientated towards older audiences

Because they were so ingrained into the mentality of "animation is for kids",but yeah.. King's got a point ther etoo

Though,admittedly,adult animations existed than too

Yeah I don't understand what is so different about animations to live action

The effort is still there

I mean there is alot.

Voice acting can be very hard to do I bet

in terms of the differences in production

It's because of that point King made... People can't shake the idea that "It's just for kids"

well today, most movies are just a green screen

And really good makeup

and masks

and it's either actors or 3d model being mocap'd by actors

Some of it is practical effects,too,like putting an actor into the actual costume

It's always nice to have a mix
