The best creators are all retired so there aren't many who still make them

And the fans have mostly grown up to more modern animation

On the topic of animation, I actually very much dislike the adventure time style art that every cartoon is going for these days

I'm not so sure how to describe it, but the bodies are all deformed and it's all very surreal

Like, Steven universe and the new thunder cats looks basically the same

Exactly, there's no identity anymore imo

Whereas early 00s even just comparing Static shock, teen titans and justice league, which is all dc, look so different

Also we had really strong European cartoons also, like oban star racers and code lyoko

There is identity but all of them seem to throw in something of the real world in there

Unlike back then where each cartoon was it's own world and feel

Apart from miraculous I can't think of anything good coming out of Europe recently, perhaps the new dangermouse cartoon also

Tbf the new cartoons appeal to today's kids so I wouldn't get it

Ours were just silly fun like Camp Lazlo and Foster's Home

Speaking of “it’s own world”, I don’t really like the fact they’re bringing smartphone to all video games. First KH3, now Animal Crossing.
