KH is kind of an exception to that. But I guess that explains my distaste with Nintendo games

I will gladly play a game for hundreds of hours, from Monster Hunter to Pokemon or Zelda(at least the recent one), etc etc

But.. I want content that I can enjoy in something and that feels entertaining

Don't just.. put tings in because "Well we need to pad time the player spends playing the ame.. Oh I know, let's put wait times and downtimes to artificially increase the length"

longer games tend to do that for me. I've rarely played a 20 hour game that can really hook me. But I also do play primarily JRPGs

That's fine, but like.. I'm mainly talking about the subset of people who seem to equate the game's length with how worth it is and don't seem to be able to seperate the fun theey have with it from that fact.. If the game was fun to you, then was it really a waste?

Depends

That said though, longer games are still good though.

But being longer doesn't necessarily mean "Oh yeah it HAS to be fun"

Ori took me about 11 hours, loved it, but I'm glad it wasn't a £40-50 game

yeah same

Ori's price point really saved it for me. I'm glad it was what it was

I would not play $60 for that game

I would not pay $60 for that game

Fair, yeah. Though there's people who'd spent like.. 40 or 50$ on games with siilar amounts of content during the ps2/ OG Xbox era

Yeah and not because it's not worth it as such more because... Like with anything if I buy a smaller thing it should cost less than a bigger thing, its giving me more hours of fun. But ofc, I'm not advocating for games to pad themselves out and become boring, it's just about smart pricing I guess

DMC comes to mind.. those games are never long, even for completition

Plus you have to consider replayability

They only take 11-15 hours to do mains tory and then maybe.. several more to actually complete the game entirely, and depending on how good the player is..

Then you complete it all in 20.. but, those games are still fun to people.. minus some entries

Btw, not advocating either for games to be less length for a high pricce, that's not the argument here

Just that.. If a gameis full priced, at al.. And it does everything in tis power to cut down on tedious tasks and things and gives the player a mainly seamless experience in some capacity, coming out short cause of it..

That shouldn't have to be a negative

Yeah like you can't judge the game length immediately and determine if it's good from that (kh3 comes to mind but cough cough can't talk about that here) it's up to each person to weigh it up I suppose

Yeah that makes sense Ama

This is like if I, a monster hunter fan, threw up arms in response to how short MHW is compared to past entries

That's Monster Hunter World, btw

To give you an idea.. it'd take many hours, possibly several 10s of hours, to get the proper gear loadouts you want and similarly get the right monster.. not to mention how clunky it was at times and how a lot of the time, to do anything,t he hunter just "stops" and does it.. you don't get any movement @Novayon

But then MHW and basically gave movement to every little action and make it an overall faster game

Faster but more satisfying I would guess?

But.. The content isn't bad.. It's.. Really quality for Monster hunter series
