Uhh, how do I set it to transparent

There should be a canvas tab

You tick the transparent box, if it doesn't work that means theres a white image in the way, so make delete that and you should see a checkered box background

Hmm, ticked the transparent but the background is still there

How do I delete the background then

Move your cut out bit out of the way, then drag a selection box over all the white and press delete on the keyboard

Then put your cut out back onto the canvas and resize canvas so it's snug
