Especially funny considering he wants to end the manga in 5 years and there is still so much left

He said 5 years when he began the series

Never trust his words on how long this series is lasting

Personally I'd like it to last until 2027 so we can celebrate the 30th anniversary

The anime will still be going with the pace it has

If the manga ends in 2027 I can see the anime going until 2030

If current pacing is kept

Towards the end it might accelerate as there will be no worries of catching up since the source material finished

If there was worrying about catching up, they would put in fillers

But instead, they will drag one page out for a few minutes

It still bothers me that the anime doesn't adapt cover stories

They are essentially canon "filler"

Only one they adapted was the Coby and Helmeppo one

And I think the Buggy one too

Yeah

They adapted some of the Strawhat Grand Fleet cover story

But it was just quick dialogue-less pan shots of the characters and the locations

It was done during the Reverie initial narration telling us that Luffy was considered

the fifth emperor

 

Better than nothing I guess

I wanted to see Baby 5 again though ?

I wanna see more of Bellamy

Anime onlies don't know what became of Bellamy and that's a shame

There are still many One Piece fans out there that don't know Mr. 9 and Miss Monday married and had a child

Hah, that was a nice callback to them

There's also the top 5 Baroque workers who started owning a bar or something

Been a while since I read that cover story

I'm excited to see it firsthand

It's always nice to see the events play out

Great thing about a bunch of these cover stories is them being relevant to the story later on

Buggy and Alvida meeting? Logue Town

Coby and Helmeppo? That's where you see Garp for the first time in the series

Hachi? You see how he met Caime and how he started his cannibalistic octopus shop

Definitely.

By the way I just realized that I know very few of the true names of the Baroque Works agents

I only know that Mr. 3 is called Galdino and Mr. 2 is called Bon Clay, I actually don't know any of the rest

This is why rereading is important
