I base it on the games that are out on it, so I wait until they have games I want.

and at that time when the ps5 pro is out, the launch exclusives are all available for $20

it's insane that god of war or horizon are available for $20

while games like botw are still 60

It can be annoying to be late to the party but, honestly if it cuts costs then it's worth it to me
