The problem is the protaganist gets killed off as a retroactive punishment for what he did, breaking a rule that was put in place as a RESPONSE to him doing what he did.

 

I would much prefer a one shot for bakuman

 

Like, he sells the death note, and then a rule gets added that you die if you sell the death note. No one ever tells him about it, he dies.
