I have to lie my monitor down somehow since all of the plugs have to go under it

This is mad scary

Don't worry too much, setting up a monitor is like the easiest job of setting up a computer

Just plug all the cables in on the monitor, put them where you want and then put the other cables in the power supply or the computer

You’re lucky, you don’t have to deal with a VGA or DVI monitor (like me)

Man, VGA and DVI are bad

The issue is that the plugs are like directly underneath the monitor and I can't see which plug points are for what

No modern computer should have them
