I can understand using it for old racing games, but using it for newer games sounds like a nightmare

Kart racers and sim racers are very, very slightly different

i would still go dpad unless not able

I think all of them let you use d-pad

Not by default since it's not recommended

But you can do it

Gran Turismo Sport even let's you use the DualShock 4's gyroscope function to use the controller as a literal wheel to turn the car

It doesn't work too great, but it's fun

i just remember my friend once did a 24 hour race in a gran turismo

Hopefully it was in GT5 and not GT4

The 24 races in GT5 are actually mad cool

Then it must've been GT4, since it lets you switch to B-Spc

GT5 did it best because:

* You can save the race progress when you pit, turn off your console and continue it later.
* Day-night cycle
* Dynamic weather

GT4 has no day-night cycle and no weather, so the races just end up being exceedingly dull

that would be lame

And they are lame

A crying shame if there ever was one, considering GT4 has the best career mode in the entire series
