Although this was just a tech demo, it's impressive what it can do

The dynamic lighting is huge

And although the fly/jump sequence was scripted, but that was running in real time

tho i have to bring up that my concern of "graphics over quality" might get closer to being reality

That is on developers and what they do with the game tho, not really the engine

the human eye while amazing can only perceive so much so i hope developers dont try and pass that peak

right that's my thing

like, KH3 as an example is on UE4 but with shaders made specifically for the game to make each world look unique

FF7R on the other hand seems to just be doing UE4 stuff

and of course we dont want the graphics to push performance either

would rather have a 2K game in 60FPS than a 4K game in 30FPS

Yeah, but that's also coming back to what developers do. UE5 should help the performance a lot with the stuff they added in the new engine, but it depends on whether the developers who make that game want to focus on that or not.

And I get that completely, yeah

Hopefully there are options like that in next-gen consoles

i know! my concern directly lies with the developers

but when you give a man fancy tools he will try and do fancy things

make no mistake, im very excited for all that UE5 brings to devs and to see what crazy things they will do
