My half brother got used to that since he lived in an apartment or w/ others that would take care of it for him, so this is his first Winter in his house and where he didn't have the option of others taking care of it for him. He even called other siblings about what to do b/c he felt helpless even though he has more than one shovel.

It's definitely important to take care of to avoid fines and the clear a safe path for mail carriers and delivery people.

People should clear (or have) their walkways in consideration of pedestrians anyway. It's a basic condition of living in a property up North where it snows during the snowy times.
