My point is, those games are also story driven games but they have quests you can skip

It's actually pretty common in games

FF14 is probs the worst example of it honestly

You can get over levelled in FF14 and still be forced through the story

And level doesn’t even matter anyway

Seeing as all dungeons/raids whatever sets your level lower anyway

If it’s not current content

If I’m level 70 when Shadowbringers comes out, just let me move on

Don’t force me through these quests

If you are 70 by the time Shadowbringers is out, then you had more than enough time to finish the main quest by then

I mean new players

And new players will progress like normal and do the main quest

There really isn't an issue here

By the time a new player has got through Stormblood they’ll be around level 71-72 going into SHB

I just don’t think that’s right

And let’s be real here, they haven’t changed the quest and story structure because they make too much money from story skips

You can buy a story skip for each expansion

I’m pretty sure the quests are designed in a way for making people want to skip it to

Teleport to another area > talk to npc > MAYBE get a cutscene > occasionally get an unskippable fight

Rinse repeat

Oh and even if you story skip

Your level doesn’t change

Level skips are sold separately

Damn MMOs and their ridiculous service microtransactions

£13 for a simple appearance change in WoW

£9 just to change your name

Bloody hell, £27 to change faction

Though I do get why they don't want people switching between factions like crazy, this seems steep to me

They could easily just limit the number of times you do it, like psn name changes

I heard the first season is pretty damn good but drops off in the second one

Loved the first season of BL
