So question for those who have played Octopath, is there no way to get these characters to interact with each other?

I don't mind that their stories aren't connected, but I was hoping for some interactions here and there

? unfortunately not really.. it's prob my main gripe with the game

for a game that truly completely focused on 8 characters.. to not have them interact really was a bummer

Like, they don't need to interact in the characters main story, but having some side stuff where they talk would have been great

yea exactly! that's why i love games like DQ11 where i can see that chemistry with my entire party. and i love every second of it

as far as i know that was the point right? to keep them separate to emulate how old school RPGs worked and such?

which I always found odd cause i cant think of many JRPGs besides FF1 and FF2 which didnt have party interaction

Mup have you played a Tales game? they have loads of party interaction through skits

The skits in Tales are pretty damn fun

And most of them are optional too, so you can get some really fun ones there

it's the main reason why i like Tales over FF as a series

For example

i have not! i was thinking of picking up Vesperia on the switch!

but the new Tales game looks gorgeous, so i am absolutely getting that one haha

Im so excited for Arise

a new engine with so much potential for amazing things
Berseria did amazing combat and story wise but fell a bit short in terms of graphics and music in areas

Vesperia still is regarded as one of the best Tales game and i do have to say I agree

even tho im like, 30% done with it

Yeaaah, I was pretty dissapointed in a lot of areas for Berseria

Especially the dungeon-ish places

also the music not looping. that was a big bummer
