I don't think so... because looking at Solo, Rogue One, and TFA.. they definitely nail star wars.. heck.. let's throw TLJ in there too

it's just that TLJ was rather different

i used a watch star wars youtubers all the time

an they would bring up different forms for combat

and to me it feels like new trilogy throw them out the window

i dunno

like i said i like TFA, TLJ was mostly a miss apart from cinematography

so for4 the films that matter its half and half

right now

i hope JJ can redeem the trilogy in its entirety though

oh, and another point

People who do like the new films... they totally see its flaws

and they do criticize it.. but they don't go hog wild with it

only people ive seen are the people who "love" the movies and go out of their way to shit on people who criticise it

i've seen more of the other way, so uh.. can't tell ya

tbh I don't care about film critics, I know this is off-tangent

but, when you really like films like POTC 2 and 3, critic scores begin to not matter

for example
