Mage classes naturally gain lesser defenses

And WEapon classes gain more defenses, etc

Like the growth system and abilities learnt changing from picking sword, staff, or shield.

However, everyone starts on fairly equal footings, with the odd advantage over eachother and weakness or two

But I meant like a rock-scissors-paper sort of thing.

So, it was in the older ones then.

I guess this just balances their footing based on skill sets/levels.

yep, though, weapons do have advantages over eachother

Axes do more damage but have less accuracy

Swords are basically averaged out in crit, accuracy, and attack

and lances have better accuracy but a little less attack, etc

And range

But this time, less restriction to grid blocks.

Magic is just melee as well?

Brawl, or rather, fists, as another example.. Has small damage per hit, but it can strike up to 4 times usually

Let me use a unit i have as an example.. Caspar

I have him maining knuckles

On hit, each hit from the weapon is only 3 or 5 damage

No, magic has range, but it can be used both from distance and upclose

So, it can still vary.

yes.. its' very interesting what they did

because although there is no weapon wheel..

They tweaked what weapons can do

and how they function.. it's minor tweaks, but they did a good job to make sure it all feels varied
