And the sad thing about it is that punk, like rock and even heavy metal to a lesser degree, got so separated from their black roots, that seeing Black rock/punk/metal musicians is rare.

I know there's plenty, but most, and esepcdially most popular, are cishet white men

even ones I enjoy like Green Day, MCR and Rage Against the Machine

all widely popular, at least somewhat punk, and cishet white men

I mean, there's a lot of reasons why; they came first, female/non-male/non-cis/non-white bands not having as mucy exposure or the support to do so

that being said I still can't tell you the difference between punk, rock and metal sometimes cause apparently Black Sabbath is counted as metal when I thought it was punk due to the fairly punk lyrics
